We stayed in the Writing Cottage, which is dog friendly. It’s a beautiful Scottish cottage which is built into the walled garden of the estate. The cottage was so cosy with everything you could need. I loved sitting outside by the fire pit in the evening and it was amazing waking up to sunrise and exploring the grounds all to myself. Breakfast was fantastic and served for guests in the garden kitchen. I particularly enjoyed using the wood fired sauna which is hidden in the trees, it was incredible and included for guests. The highland hospital from all the staff was brilliant.

I would like to start of by saying how amazing the staff has been throughout our stay at this amazing place. Vivian has been extremely friendly not only while guiding us through one of the most delicious (and offering the tastiest bread) fine dining experience from Chef Iain that my partner and I had but also during breakfast. And we could not talk about breakfast without mentioning Ellie who always greeted us with a smile and made sure to remember our orders every morning. Furthermore, I would like to extend our compliments to the rest of the staff members such as Melissa and James who always made sure nothing was missing during our stay.

The house itself was remarkable and I would strongly recommend anyone planning on visiting the area to consider staying at least a few nights there to be fully immersed. Everything was clean and comfortable while offering a very intimate atmosphere with great music and an outstanding selection of drinks from wine to whiskey.

If you are looking for a magical meal or stay that will transport you to the set of a period drama, Boath house is the place for you. We just stayed here for two serene nights and got to try both the casual restaurant and fine dining experience. Everything was delicious, staff are warm and friendly, and the stay was incredible. It’s even BETTER than the pictures!||The garden restaurant is set within a walled garden that is just STUNNING. You can come for food and then explore the gorgeous grounds. There is casual food like burgers or sandwiches, and the hotel breakfast is served there amongst the flowers. Best scrambled eggs I’ve EVER had. The indoor dining experience was 5 courses, each better than the last. The cocktails were amazing (try their Aperol Spritz, they have their own delicious twist). The farmers shop is also great! We bought some delicious local snacks there to take hiking.||The hotel itself is a gorgeous, eight bedroom stone building. It is so clear the owners have carefully thought about every inch of the space, indoors and out. Everything has been impeccably designed, with no expense spared. There are feather pillows, high quality robes, a gorgeous forest sauna, classy shared lounges, and wonderful treats replenished each day in the room. The owners meet you on arrival, and help with anything you need during your stay. It is truely worth every cent we paid and I wish we could have stayed longer. Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. A great place to stop on a journey from Edinburgh to Inverness, for a few hours, or a few days.

The use of local, high-quality ingredients is outstanding, and the lovingly maintained fruit, vegetable, and flower gardens invite you to pause and enjoy the moment.

Our Labrador Brooklyn was just as warmly welcomed as we were – which made the stay feel even more special.

My wife Tsvetana and I, Craig McIntosh, recently had the immense pleasure of spending three nights at the magnificent Boath House Hotel, from the 13th to the 16th of June, and it was an experience we will cherish forever. What truly set Boath House apart was the unparalleled warmth and attentiveness of the management team, James and Melissa. They possess an extraordinary talent for hospitality, making us feel not just welcome, but genuinely special. It felt as though we were personal guests in their own beautiful home. Their meticulous attention to detail, proactive assistance, and genuine care were evident in every interaction, creating an atmosphere of bespoke luxury that is rarely found. They remembered our preferences, anticipated our needs, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment.

To put into words our stay at Boath House is pretty different, I’d prefer to refer to the whole experience as a ‘feeling’. But if I had to use words i’d pick classy, elegant, regal, normal, tasty, delicious and very pretty.
