After booking this hotel to attend a funeral I had an unexpected health issue. The staff could not have been more kind or understanding. I would definitely recommend to my friends. Hotel set in a beautiful location with lovely walks nearby.

We've stayed at the Ramnee a few times now and absolutely love it
It has such a cosy, homely frel and the staff are always wonderful - friendly, helpful, welcoming.

The full Scottish breakfast is delicious and the restaurant meals are fairly simple but very tasty.

Even the other guests are friendly!

I have read other reviews that mention the dated decor...this is an old, historic property with bags of character..modern rooms wouldn't be inkeeping and it certainly doesn't alter the experience at this hotel. On top of that our rooms have always been spotless and have everything we need!

Excellent breakfast, but very old rooms, the wallpaper was peeling, the beds were small and while the bathroom was working properly, it seemed 30 years old. The hired staff was very very kind and always available, but the owner added a 5ÂŖ card payment surcharge for the shuttle service to the airport. This happened after I kindly asked if they could arrange for a taxi, and I even provided them a number to call, which apparently they could not. The price for the hotel shuttle (the car of an employee) was higher than the taxi I had used some months prior, so I feel like they took advantage of the situation.

We booked the Culbin room for an 80th birthday party and it was delightful. Just what we wanted - Beautiful views out to Findhorn bay from the huge bay window and stunning lupins and rhododendrons in the front garden.
The food was very good and plentiful. Interesting sandwich fillings, macrons, carrot cake, lemon sponge. Delicious pistachio chocolate dipped strawberries. Staff were attentive and discreet.
I am really glad we came to the Ramnee for this important celebration.

A lovely place with very kind and welcoming staff. Nicely decorated and a nice feel from being in a big, historic house. A good selection of drinks in the bar and nice locals. Forres is also a lovely little town with public gardens and a couple of good restaurants. A warm welcome awaits.

I spent 5 days at Ramnee hotel whilst attending a Wellness Retreat nearby. The service was of high standard indeed. Staff were helpful and efficient. The proprietor of the hotel was very welcoming and went out of his way to make my stay comfortable. I will be going back to stay at Ramnee Hotel as long as I visit that part of the country. I liked the view of the North Sea bay from my room. Nothing beats the fresh sea breeze every morning and the tranquility of being out there in the open. The dining experience gives a homely feel. Loved the whole experience.

Had a lovely evening in the bar here the other day with a group of friends. Carla behind the bar was on particularly fine form. Thanks to Stewart and the team, wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed there on a business trip. I picked this hotel as I stayed there in the 90s and remembered it was a lovely hotel then. When I walked in it was like stepping back in time, it looked exactly the same. Unfortunately the rooms were also the same, dark mahogany furniture and faded decorated walls. On the good side the bed was really comfortable. |They hotel did state that there was wifi but I think it wasn't working. The bar again hadn't changed either|The food was very nice but a bit expensive. The garden area outside is really lovely so decided to take our drinks outside only to be sat at the side by some foreign guests who were drinking there own beer from cans and wine they had brought. |I know times are hard for hotels and hospitality but there is business to be had. I was working at the Lossiemouth air base and business people are crying out for good accommodation and staying local to the base is essential.| I think a revamp is well overdue. Make the rooms brighter with good wifi and connectivity and somewhere to work and that would attract business people like myself to come back time after time. Unfortunately at the moment, for me I won't be staying again.|
