Popped in here for lunch. 2 meals were good , large portions. Battered fish is another story. Needed a hammer to break the batter. My guess, not fresh or battered on the premises, ready battered from the freezer. Batter was too hard to eat. Soup taken from the freezer so not being made every day. Not enjoyable a waste of money. |Ladies toilet is upstairs. I have mobility issues, that was a serious struggle. 2 cubicles, neither had hand towels, no hygiene bins and the flush handle missing on one and a toilet roll down the other. Clearly not checked. |They only take cash payments. Didn't see any notice about that before we ordered. Fortunately one of the group had cash. |Staff were friendly and helpful but really disappointed. Would not recommend |

Dropped in on spec. and was pleasantly surprised. The dining room was spotless and the staff really helpful. The meals were really tasty and of generous proportions. A minor criticism, hot plates would have been appreciated and benefited the food being served.
But because of the overall value for money it would be mean to award less than 5 stars.

We (4 adults) popped in lunchtime for a pint, coffees and snacks. Traditional old style pub takes cash only. It has Sky sports. The host was most helpful suggesting we visit Euchan Falls, as we may see salmon leaping he was right what a delight, thank you.

The Sunday lunches have become our favourites. We have eaten here several times and the food has always been a) good quality b) well cooked c) good sized portions. d) excellent value for money. There is always a choice of 2 roasts in addition to the extensive daily menu, all the food is cooked to order. The staff are very friendly and helpful. ||On Sunday the dining room was packed with locals, some tables occupied twice over, during our stay.||Our first experience followed a chance meeting with the owner: we had eaten at a nearby hotel and decided to stroll along the main street. The owner was standing on the doorstep taking some air and we stopped to look at the advertising board outside, he asked if we wanted to eat but we told him we had eaten at the other hotel. He told us that the Glendyne Sunday lunch is the best, come and try, so we did the following Sunday, and he certainly was telling the truth!

A small traditional & historic hotel in the main street of Sanquhar. On entry it felt a bit oppressive. Kinda dark and a strange layout. Tiniest bar ever and you could see right down to the kitchen upon entry of the building. The food was good. I had a BBQ chicken & bacon melt which turned out to be breaded goujons underneath. It was okay, and edible. Plenty bacon & cheese which was good. My O/H had a burger, and he really enjoyed that.
What disappointed me was there's no disabled/downstairs loo. I fully accept that it's an old building, but it was awkward for me, being on crutches. I needed my O/H to help me with the stairs, so wheelchair users, please take note. Upstairs, you could see inside a room filled with old chairs & stuff which would have been better unseen to customers. It was a busy wee place when we were in, so service wasn't the quickest but we weren't in a rush anyway.
Would we go back? Yes. Food was good. Staff were friendly and it's an interesting wee place.

Stopped in after a trip out for some food. Excellent meal, great prices and friendly staff. Highly recommend! Portion sizes where great, alcohol free beer available. Fresh decor, beer garden out the back. Nice little find. Thank you to the staff and owners!

Only visited the small bar - had a couple pints.

As we walked in we were greeted by the barman who offered to put the races on for us, which was a nice gesture. The decor of the bar was sparse to say the lest (needs visit from John Taffer).

Went out for a fag the landlady of the hotel was very friendly and gave us some local recommendations.

If you like a little edge with your bar this is the place for you - just dont compliment the menu...
