A wonderful hotel in its own wee bay. There are only a few rooms, each individual, the one we were in had a beautiful view of the sea. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly, whilst offering great service. We had lovely breakfasts and wonderful evening meals cooked by a great chef and their team. We always ask ourselves, would we go there again? The answer is an emphatic yes!

Perfect spot to end our holiday in Scotland. Very helpful, friendly staff. Attentive to our needs from morning to night.|Located by the Irish Sea with sitting areas. Dinners and breakfasts were a first class dining experience. Love the scones and shortbread, too.Thank you for a lovely peaceful stay in the Churchill room. Hope to return in the future.

Staying in Shingle Lodge for a week.
Spacious luxurious and cosy.
Situated in gorgeous private bay with beach below sea cliffs.
Views out to see and the Irish coast.
Real special indulgent holiday.
Not sampled delights of hotel yet which comes highly recommended.

Excellent service. We spent one night here and it was fantastic. The food was good and the service great. Would recommend to anyone. After a mix up with my memory we were offered an upgrade to a superior room and had wonderfull views over towards the bay.

We spent four nights here with our Labrador dog over the Christmas period. The hotel is perfect if you are wanting a quiet getaway with excellent fine-dining food. It is located about two miles down a narrow road which could be difficult to negotiate if arriving in the dark. Once there you have tranquility, sea views and a cove all to yourself.||Our room (named Churchill because Winston stayed there) was spacious with entrance area, large bathroom and bedroom with sofa. The views were to the cliffs and sea. The furniture was traditional Victorian and offered plenty of storage. The original Victorian bath is enormous and very comfortable; there is also a modern walk-in shower.||The hotel has a small comfortable bar and lounge with welcoming log fire and because there are only ten rooms guests quickly got to know one-another which created a nice social atmosphere.||The food was exquisite, the best we have ever eaten and locally sourced with information about the suppliers given. Dinner was a five course tasting menu each evening. The chef was happy to offer alternatives when requested.|My only wish was for more vegetables and salad - I craved piles of green stuff by the end of my stay!||There are cliff walks with lovely views across to Ireland direct from the hotel. Take walking boots or stout trainers.|We also took time to explore the whole peninsula by car which offered lots more beaches and walking opportunities.||The hotel staff were all very attentive, efficient and friendly.|All in all we would thoroughly recommend Knockinaam - tranquility, sea-air and exceptional food.

Another wonderful stay. We go for the food, but the rooms, service, location, staff, and peace and quiet, make Knockinaam Lodge a special place. Of particular note are the kitchen's willingness to adapt the tasting menu, open fires, cosy feel and warm welcome. Thank you all at Knockinaam Lodge!

The location is lovely - right on the sea with no other development nearby. The hotel is stylishly furnished in a traditional way, and very comfortable with ample space to sit around in the residents’ lounges. We were in the “Whins” suite, with excellent views over the garden and out to sea. The food is excellent, thanks to head chef Tony Pierce; fillet steak, grouse and delicious but light patisserie were memorable. Finally, the numerous staff were all helpful and cheerful.

We had an idyllic experience at this lovely hideaway. It is like being in your own little family lodge but pampered while feeling totally relaxed and at home. The view is spectacular, and the sea breeze refreshing. The food is fantastic! Every night was a gourmet experience. Absolutely delicious and top quality in a beautiful setting. We loved this experience.
