Just an hour out of Glasgow, it was a delight to stay at this B&B, I would highly recommend it for those who like a mature tradition setting, peace, quite and a chance to disconnect and unwind. Carol is so attentive and a fabulous host. I stayed for one night in the Amy Johnson suite and had a great nights sleep in this traditional manor house. It has a shared bathroom and I was fortunate to be the only one in that night. Everything is clean and tidy and I was thoroughly spoilt with breakfasting and enjoyed delicious home made jams along with my locally sourced English.
I would recommend for couples and single travellers alike. Very nice!

We stayed 2 nights in the four poster suite, a lovely spacious comfortable room with wonderful views and the Egyptian theme bathroom has to be seen to be believed. A long luxurious soak in the huge bath was so relaxing. Carol our host was so welcoming, a font of local knowledge and she couldn't do enough for us going above and beyond and exceeded all our expectations. We enjoyed lovely tasty breakfasts including eggs from Carol's girls ( her hens) and a choice of delicious homemade jams and marmalade. We would love to stay again the next time we are in the area.

This was the 3rd time we have stayed overnight on our long journey north. Carol is the perfect hostess - so warm, friendly and welcoming. She makes us feel at home very quickly. The room had a four poster bed and a wonderful view out towards the Solway Firth and the mountains of the Lake District beyond. There is a lovely sitting room for guests with a log fire. There is a lovely choice of food for breakfast and very delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer, it was perfect. Thank you Carol. Hope to stay again.

Carol made us feel welcomed, she is a very good host. Never made to feel uncomfortable. The house is beautiful. Would highly recommend. It's peaceful and atmosphere was relaxed. The living room has a log fire and big tv to chill out and relax. The Egyptian theme was perfect for the bathroom.

The most wonderful location, and spacious grounds, fantastic breakie and graciously witty Housekeeper Carole made the stay for our wedding day ideal.
Nothing was too much trouble and our four poster room was not only totally spotlessly clean but filled with yummie goodies, as for the Bathroom..... would like to have taken it with me, has to be seen to be believed the decor for the en-suite was fabulous!
Many thanks Carole we will be back next time we visit bonnie Scotland.

Beautiful home, relaxing idyllic peaceful break. Food excellent. My daughter and I stayed overnight. The welcome, care and attention was exceptional from the owners. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to everyone. Kirkpatrick House will be a Home where we shall return. Alexandria and Dorothy.

Nice location with a VERY welcoming owner. Room was great. Four poster bed and a huge sunken bath. Beautiful surroundings with just a short drive to Gretna and surrounding locations. Breakfast top notch. Speaking to the owner she said she would prefer if you booked direct through her.
