My partner and I stayed at Gorsebank in the Willow Pod on May 28th - 31st, 2025. The proprietor, Kiersten, is always so welcoming. I remembered her because I had been previously several years ago. I love the way she drives around the site with her dog, checking that everyone is ok and having a wonderful time. ||If you are a cat lover like me then beautiful pussy cat Spooks is very welcoming and comes to greet you and make sure that you enjoy your stay. ||||The pods are very spacious and have everything you should need, from a mini fridge to internet connection. We booked a luxury pod with a hot tub, and we felt so relaxed it was like all of our worries were washed away with the water. You can purchase a pre-lighting service for £20.00, which I highly recommend, as you can ask for the tub to be heated for your arrival. There is a small BBQ next to your pod if you want to remain near your quarters when cooking, or there is a kitchen on site that has everything you should need there, too. ||||There is lots to do on site with Segway hires, woodland walks, and a fishery, and Dalbeattie town centre is close by, so you can check out Dalbeattie Museum and the fabulous Brambles Café should you require a hot breakfast or brunch. There are several great bike ride trails nearby if biking is your thing. I highly recommend Gorsebank and look forward to returning again in the future.

A fabulous stay. We stayed in Cherry Pod and took a horse with us for a long weekend. ||The pod was a perfect size for myself and my daughter and great facilities re covered outdoor hot tub, grill and dining area with a very nice private bathroom and shower for the pod only 10 yards away. ||The owner was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. So many on site activities and lovely walks through the woods. The lovely seaside villages of Kippford and Rockliff are a very short drive away with eating places, pubs etc. Dalbeattie was 2 mins in the car which was really handy for takeaways etc. ||We had a horse with us and it was a fabulous facility to take a horse to. So many lovely hacks to do, and we rented a superb cross country course 5 minutes away. We had a small field all for our horse and it was close to the pod so we could keep an eye on her. ||We shall return! Thank you.

Gorsebank is one of my favourite and most reliable places for a peaceful retreat from the world. Their pods and wigwams are superb, well equipped communal kitchen with little kettle, fridge and microwave inside your place. All facilities are spotlight clean and each visitor on site has a privately assigned toilet which is a true luxury. The wood fired hot tubs are such a nice addition to everything and allow for a night stargazing while relaxing. The place is surrounded with nature full of beautiful walks and mountain bike trails. I've been coming back and recommending this place since 2017. Truly amazing and the owners are nice, attentive and kind people. Did I mention dogs are welcomed on some of their facilities?

I really enjoy going to gorsebank for the peace and quiet also the facilities in the Bliss cabins are excellent. |The staff are all friendly and helpful. |Gorsebank is close to most attractions in dumfries and galloway. There are shops in dalbeattie for any provisions and supermarkets in Castle Douglas, which is a lovely drive through the countryside. |The Bliss cabins cater more for outside living with a hot tub, log burner, and an area for cooking outside. Great for stargazing.|The bed was so comfortable I slept really well. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you.|This is my fourth time here, and I will definitely be back again.|

It’s a green bathing experience. We brought our food plus added a fresh trout we caught this morning. Eating by the fire, hot tub, watching a heron on the way to the bathroom block. Very relaxing experience

Stayed for 2 nights in June 2025 and it was fantastic. |We stayed in the NITH Wigwan and there was 2 off us and our dog Kobe. |We had paid extra for the wood fired hot tub and it was wonderful and well worth the value for money to upgrade. |We took our own small barbecue and we were lucky enough that the weather was good so we had stocked up on supplies and we had a barbecue both nights and the fridge, albeit small was perfect for the both of us. |You have full access to a kitchen, indoor seating area with WiFi, large laundry room (with washing machine and tumble dryer). This area was only yards from our Wigwan. |One of the owners popped over when we arrived and ran through the basics with us and after that we didn’t see them and they said if we needed anything just to call/text them. Very friendly and warming. |We sent them a message asking for more firewood for the hot tub and we arrived back from our walk it was already in the wood storage container for us. Perfect !!|For the hot tub you just need to keep the fire burning and keep moving the water around in the hot tub every 20mins (with the paddle provided) and in just over 2hrs we had a lovely warm hot tub. We found that about 36-39 degrees was perfect and anything above that was a bit too hot. |The Wigwan was fairly basic but perfect. It was very clean and tidy on our arrival. |We were issued our shower and toilet block and it was basically only yards from our Wigwan and it was just like a en-suite. It had a great shower with good pressure and lots of hot water. It was immaculately clean and tidy on our arrival. |The best thing about Gorsebank is that it’s so peaceful, calm and quiet, there is literally no noise.|We just chilled out in the peace and quiet and watched the world go by. |We went for a few walks with the dog and even though it was quiet everyone we met said hello. |The campsite has 3 large ponds and seems especially popular with people on fishing trips and it also had a private members pond also. |Due to it also being a working farm there are lots of horses so we had our dog on lead when on walks and around our Wigwan we had him on a 33ft training lead so he could wander around the area next to our Wigwan and he had plenty room. ||What a wonderful stay !||Great place. |Great owners.||If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city living then this is the place for a perfect escape !

Excellent stay. Gorgeous accommodation. It has everything you need. Hot tub, wood burning stove outside. Definitely recommend this place I've stayed many times. Great area for major attractions in dumfries and galloway.

What can I say… enjoyed every minute, we stayed in the cherry pod with a hot tub it was amazing the owners was lovely and very helpful with any questions I had. We did fishing there which have 3 big ponds to choose from, we also did mountain biking plenty of forest 7Stanes forests to choose from. Gorsebank is a beautiful place, very quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend visiting as you won’t be disappointed. I will be going again soon thank you guys.
