I chose this hotel from the reviews on here and we were all delighted with our stay. Six of us from different parts of the country met up and had a fabulous stay. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the rooms very comfortable. I noted several people complained about the traffic noise and the roads were busy but we weren’t aware of any noise and slept very well all night. The lounge was very comfortable and we sat and chatted both evenings before dinner. The food was delicious especially the salmon starter and all the desserts!!! I highly recommend this hotel.

Mid week lunch for two. The outside appearance made us think that this was an up market posh restaurant which put us off a bit. Inside the glassware and linen tablecloths re-enforced that image. However the staff were friendly and the menu was very inexpensive and not at all pretentious. We both opted for a battered haddock sandwich with chips and side salad which was very reasonably priced. For most of our visit we were the only people in there, but I'd say it is well worth a visit

Very friendly and professional staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Nice peaceful location and not far from some of the main villages.

I thought the room decor was quite worn however and the price was quite a lot considering the hotel had quite basic facilities. Not the best value for money.

Considering the main reason for a hotel is the rooms, I'm rating the hotel mainly based on that. When we first got into our room it smelled lovely - compliments to the cleaning staff, they did a lovely job in that respect. But the rooms clearly haven't been refreshed in a very long time, in desperate need of a repaint, professional clean and new beds. In the bathroom there were tiles on the floor which were cracked and the toilet was way too close to the wall and the radiator. The room had marks on the walls probably from peoples suitcases, after the lovely smell went away the carpet had a scent of feet, but what really bothered me was that I paid for a room with a double bed, not two singles put together (which is what we got). Both mornings my back felt sore because the beds themselves were uncomfortable but I also couldn't sleep 'with' my husband because you could feel the edge of the single beds in the middle of the bed. If you want a hotel close to Hyde house and nice food in the evening then it'll be that. But having to get a minimum of 2 nights, it's expensive for what it is.

We had a very unpleasant experience staying in room #205. The room is flanked by highways on two sides, and the so-called “noiseproof” windows fail to block out the noise at all. Consequently, we couldn't sleep during our entire stay of two nights. The noise from cars and heavy vehicles zooming by continued late into the night and resumed as early as 5:30 AM.

We complained about the vehicle noise to the front desk on the first night. To address our concerns, the front desk person came to our room to check if the windows were properly closed. However, despite confirming this, we were not provided with any alternative options. We were informed that the rooms on the other side of the highway were unavailable.

What makes the experience even more frustrating is the high cost of $250 per night. This is something I wouldn't even expect from a cheap motel, let alone from a place charging such a premium. Having traveled to 36 countries, this is undeniably the loudest hotel room we've ever stayed in.

The management should seriously consider upgrading their windows to better noiseproof standards or refraining from renting out room #205 altogether.

Overall, If you are a light sleeper or traveling with children, please do yourself a favor and DO NOT book a room here. The street noise will ruin your vacation!

Had a lovely stay here, my only complaint is I wish I could have stayed another night! Staff were lovely, the bed was comfortable, check in and out was seamless. The area itself is stunning and the food was incredible. Couldn’t ask for more especially for a very last minute stay, I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you

Excellent service from staff, comfortable accommodation and excellent food. Disappointed that we were not allowed into our room as we arrived three quarters of an hour early although room was ready.
