Good value for money, clean, great location, friendly young staff (although it seemed there was an absence of any senior management), excellent breakfast, access in and out of the hotel if staying out late eg for a wedding like us
Recommended but better attention maybe required to differentiate room guests from ordinary punters, just to better the experience.
Comfortable bed, impressive spacious walk in shower with timber / laminate flooring - liked that!

We arrived friday for a 2 night stay for a wedding locally. From the minute we arrived the staff were amazing so friendly and just couldnt do enough for us. Our room was beautiful spotlessly clean too.
Food friday night was amazing & breakfast both days was really nice. Thankyou so much everyone especially the two ladys who appeared to be managers fri & then sat/sun you are amazing at your job and have great staff

We had an unfortunate experience with no hot water to our room. However, we were notified in advance and our room rate was reduced to compensate us. No bottled water in the room. Otherwise all good: great location and comfortable room

EDIT - In Responce to the Kings Head response:
I have reconfirmed the potential of loud music n Saturday nights was not written anywhere on my used booking site (Hotels.com) nor was any thing mentioned in any email and no ear plugs were left in the room .

I have stayed here previously, and it was nice so decided to stay again. My stay was Friday to Sunday,

Fully appreciating it's a pub, and having stayed in others I expect a level of noise and music, and Friday night there was music and noise at an acceptable / expected volume until 11pm, however Saturday there was a live dj, who was definitely re-living his ibiza days, and the sound levels was double that of Friday night until 12pm

Whilst I appreciate ,again, it's a hotel above a pub, It does not mention anywhere in the description that live djs and loud party music will be played on Saturday nights. As I have stayed in many similar places, which, as they are a hotel too , do not have music levels like this, so a prior warning is needed, and would have made me reconsider my stay here.

On arrival the welcome we received from staff was warm and friendly, checking in was smooth and simple, and free car parking on site was of course a great bonus. The room (Aethelred) was huge, warm, extremely comfortable and served our every need. A lovely stay and both thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated.
