Great place to stop by and get something to eat. This place is in the holiday site at the top of the serpentine. The food we ordered was delicious, the servers were polite, prompt and well presented. There is plenty of parking for customers. If you don't want to go up the Serpentine, there are other "straighter" roads to use.

The Jam Jar is one of the Isle of Bute's best kept secrets. At the top of Canada Hill it has fabulous views and sunsets. The restaurant is very popular with the locals and serves delicious homemade food. The desserts are particularly fantastic. There is outside seating and it is dog friendly outside. The owner is delightful and her passion is very evident in the delicious food she is creating. There was a very friendly, warm ambience and service was fantastic. We will definitely be going again on our next visit to Bute!

Had seen a very positive post on 'best fish & chips in Rothesay' so ventured here (as it was a bit too windy for a takeaway by the sea). Staff very friendly and efficient, but fish was greasy and the chips appeared to be of the frozen variety! It was early on in the evening and out of season, so not many people in & (although the music playing was good) it was a shade too loud.

We were staying on Roseland Holiday Park next door and was tempted by a meal at the Jam Jar. Dogs aren't allowed inside but there are tables outside that you can use, unfortunately it was raining. Not a problem though because the Jam Jar put our meals in takeaway boxes so we could eat in our motorhome. The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Would recommend a visit, it's really good food.

The best place on the island to eat! Massive portions served fresh worth the waiting time witch was only 15 minutes, their signature burger was worth the price! High quality food!
