Sadly my stay here was just a one night affair. However, the guys at reception (I'm not sure they were both supposed to be there) couldn't have made me more welcome. There was a great atmosphere all around, ample free parking, and a river that runs through the grounds that is so relaxing to watch and listen too.

Beautiful picturesque pub perfect on a summers day! Their service was spot on, super friendly, efficient, and I felt like they cared about their customers satisfaction. It’s a nice change from the city.
The menu has a nice selection of typical pub grub dishes and they do the Sunday roasts ❤️ The calming atmosphere was perfect, with plenty of outdoor seating and they have tables situated by the canal. I love pretty pubs like these, this is truly a gem.
It was just what we needed, very peaceful.

The location is fabulous, next to a stream, the building lovely, the food excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. We had a perfect lunch here. Many customers were enjoying what's left of the summer outside in the courtyard and garden while we enjoyed a table inside with a view of the stone bridge over the river.

We had a family gathering today, and we always meet at this pub. Why!
The setting is fantastic, and the food is amazing, portion sizes are great but the quality is even better!

A pub that is getting things right is hard to find, and these guys are smashing it.

In the Cotswolds, beneath skies so bright,
The White Hart welcomed us for lunch, just right.
Twenty-seven gathered, eager to see,
What the Pie of the Day might possibly be.

For days we wondered, would it be bold?
The answer: steak and mushroom, a tale well told.
A curious blend that none thought of first,
But one savory bite and all fears dispersed.

The fish and chips, golden, crisp delight,
Baked Camembert, warm, a gooey sight.
The staff were kind, so friendly, so sweet,
Attentive to all, they couldn’t be beat.

And when dessert came—oh, what a dream!
Sticky toffee pudding with a caramel gleam.
We left full of joy, bellies content,
From a magical lunch we’ll never forget.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal (don’t miss out on the breads) served professionally with a never-ending smile by Hattie.. the sum of which brightened our day! History, location, charm, food and service.. all at a fair price. We’ll be back!

We visited the pub for a celebratory meal on Saturday lunchtime. The location and pub itself is absolutely beautiful. However, we had a very poor experience of food and service which we were quite surprised about considering the reviews we read. Some of us had the mussels to start: they were full of grit and very crunchy! When the starter dishes were collected, I mentioned this to the server. It was barely acknowledged. The main courses were mostly traditional pub food which was pretty standard. I had the hake dish which was so disappointing. The piece of hake was absolutely tiny and so overcooked and the samphire was inedible due the stalkiness. These issues would not usually cause me to write a negative review but at no point, did any member of staff ask how our meal was and when I did give the feedback about the mussels, it was as good as ignored. We paid over £300 for our meal for 6 which is a huge amount of money when you leave feeling disappointed.
Normally I tell the world and his wife if we have a good experience somewhere but I wouldn't recommend The White Hart.

What an absolutely beautiful pub!!! The buildings/layout/location are just lovely - so picturesque and serene. We had lunch outside in the courtyard by the river, and it was excellent. Went with the burger with triple cooked chips. I have eaten many pub burgers, but this was one of the - if not best I have had. It was great quality and well presented. The triple cooked chips were perfect - crunchy and golden on the outside and fluffy white in the middle. The staff were very friendly and polite, and service was speedy. We found this by pure accident, and although a good hundred miles from home, I can't wait to visit again!
