Had Chapli kabab twice there, authentic taste, tasty naan bread but very less amount of sauces given with kabab. Other than that everything is good. 100% recommended

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
First time trying Pamir Afghan Restaurant and I was really impressed! The food was delicious, full of flavour, and the portions were generous. The staff were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. The place has a nice cosy vibe too. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve had in Bolton – I’ll be coming back for sure!

UPDATE
Came exactly a year later to the restaurant and it was horrible. Was empty but there was only 1 waiter. Decoration was bad as there were food stains on the walls and the TV was very dusty. Food was bland and extremely overpriced (chicken and lamb karahi were half bones and extremely expensive but they tasted bland). Sat at the far end of the restaurant

No freebies this time which I understand but the waiter went back into the kitchen so when we would call for him, nobody came (we shouted pretty loud but they didn't hear us). They also gave us disposable small PLASTIC cups and only after when we asked for real glasses did they bring them (which was dirty).

Jug for the mango still had the sticker on it and it looked like they tried scrubbing it off but it remained there and the chicken wings still had the hair on it (probably didn't cook it long enough).

Outrageous prices, tasteless food and disgusting customer service. When this closes down, (they have been many other restaurants in it's place in the past) I hope the new restaurant has better food and service. Would rate it 0 out of 5 if I could as it's a waste of money for the service and food quality.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (PHOTOS ARE FROM THE OLD REVIEW)
Went on the opening day (3rd July 2023) and we used to dine at the former restaurant here a lot. It was very very quiet.

Went as a family of 4 for dinner. As soon as we went in, we were greeted by a friendly waiter. She showed us to our table.

We sat down and ordered the platter which was number 77 as well as mango lassi. Sadly they didn't have naan in stock since it was their first day of opening so we were given bread completly free of charge. They put in a new grill so they could only make grilled food like the platter and no curries or other food like that which was understandable since it was opening day.

One of the owners who was Afghani came to our table and greeted us. He brought 2 small and free deserts which was very kind of him.

Our food then came and it looked really cool. It was small for the price but it filled us up. The lamb was very chewy but it was still delicious and full of flavour. We called our waiter down towards the end of our meal and she was on her break and still got us our drinks which was really nice of her (we gave her a tip at the end). We left satisfied and we will be back soon! (see pictures attached)

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
When we went, it was cash only so make sure you call beforehand since they might have not gotten their card system implemented on the opening day.
It is not Afghan Chopan and is a completly different restaurant so new menu, new owners, new waiters, new plates etc. The interior is similar to the old one though.
There is a prayer room and 2 bathrooms so one for males and one for females and the prayer room is small.
This is an Afghani restaurant and is also halal.
They don't have tawas on the menu anymore.
You are not garenteed to get freebies like we did. I don't think they have this bread on the menu and it was a substitute for the naan they didn't have in stock

Other then that, I hope this honest review has helped you. Big thank you to the restaurant once again!!

Second visit to this place. First time was very good both food and service.
We were not happy with the atmosphere and thought we will give it another go.
Went for the second time on Sunday 21st of September. The food wasn't good neither was the service, bust most of all the atmosphere was very disappointing.
Sitting on the table ready for your meal while you can hear a young couple behind curtains ( what that curtains is doing there anyway) , was really uncomfortable. God knows what they were doing there.
GET A ROOM PLEASE, NOT A BED IN A RESTAURANT WHERE FAMILIES ARE EATING.
We will never go back.

We had an amazing experience at Pamir Restaurant in Bolton! We ordered the Pamir Special Grill, and it was absolutely delicious. The dish includes starters, a fresh and vibrant salad, and a generous mixed grill with rice and 2 rotis. It's perfect for 3-4 people and priced at £27.99, which is totally worth it for the quantity and quality of the food. The flavors were fantastic, and everything was cooked to perfection. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great meal. We will definitely be back!

Ordered a massive mixed grill platter to takeaway. Deliciously grilled meat and juicy kebabs. Plenty of rice and bread with it. The best Afghani food I've had in Bolton.
