My husband and I went for a spa day 29 Oct 2024. It was great. The staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble at all, like when I asked if we could have our food later than scheduled. I like the way they had reserved a table for us in the restaurant and also reserved pool side beds for us with fluffy towels. The place was nice and warm too. Large pool, sauna and steam rooms. Afternoon tea with prosecco was good but the hi-light was my massage by Phoebe. Bliss. For the money, I had an absolutely great relaxing day and would go again in a flash. Thank you very much.

Visited Stoke by Nayland as part of a group of golfers for the second consecutive year. Booking was easy and we were kept in contact with in the run up to our visit. Both golf courses are challenging but fair & were in great condition. We stayed for two nights & ate in the restaurant on both evenings. The menu is varied & the food was excellent. The Sports bar & patio area are a great place for a post round drink. The bar snack food in here was good too. Plenty of staff in all areas to pander to all your needs. Pool, spa area and rooms were all excellent and a high standard. The attention to detail from the friendly golfing staff was excellent We will be visiting again. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely girlie spa day, the mud treatment was fantastic & had a lovely facial. Afternoon tea was delicious. We had our own loungers reserved for our party around the pool. Spa staff very friendly & attentive. The sun was shining so we could sunbath outside of pool area. We stayed the night room spacious & comfortable. Cocktails at the bar followed by a very tasty meal in hotel restaurant. Breakfast was self service good selection rounded off a brilliant stay…

We booked a one night stay via golf breaks, which included two rounds of golf and an evening meal plus breakfast. The two courses were excellent with the Gainsborough easily being the tougher of the two. Some course knowledge is definitely needed on that one! After playing it I think we would all fair a little better. The evening meal was really a highlight. Beautifully presented and very tasty. We had three courses which came with the deal. It was incredibly good but even this didn’t compare to how fantastic the service was. Incredibly attentive and couldn’t do enough to help! The same applies to breakfast as well. The only place that needed a bit of tlc was the breakfast bar. It wasn’t dreadful by any means but the carpet was a little worn and there was a little smell to it. However, that did not deflect from a superb stay. I would undoubtedly visit again. Excellent value! Thanks!

Lets start with the accommodation (excellent) beds were very comfortable, room was very clean, so 5/5. Food, limited choice and the worst one was the chicken pasta dish ( sorry but the chef/cook does not know how to cook pasta ( my opinion) but i would still give it 3.5 to 4 stars as it was clean and well presented. Staff, 5/5 I think the score says it all, but I have to say, they are the friendliest staff I have ever met, so yes 5/5 in my book. Bar another 5/5, it was very clean and again the staff were awesome. Golf shop, the stall in there were again top marks 5/5 for the way they even would help you with your golf bag, excellent. Golf course, they fairways where very god, the greens where excellent, but beware the paths or tracks (if your in a buggy) were not good, full of pot holes, but I know we had a lot of rain but a hard set of Type 1 mixed with cement would help, so be careful while driving it, also the T boxes need to be cut, the grass was way to long and not very level, and also beware of the Tees that are just just put on the fairway, who they are for, but again there is no signs so you know they are there, so thats it, I hope this helps and would I/ we stay again, yes hope to go back 2025

Golf club venue with hotel attached. The rooms were ok but looked very dated in the furnishings. Difficulty in using the shampoo and body wash as they were fitted to the wall in brackets and didn't pump anything.
The reception area was also dated for furniture with the seats when sitting you sank into them making it difficult to get out again. The food was good but needed a little more care to detail eg Eaton mess was a waste of time as it didn't resemble anything like it should have done. Very disappointed as some customers that sent it back to the kitchen.
Breakfast was really good buffet, but again the kitchen needs to depend the bacon as it's stuck together and you pick up four slices when you only want one!
I feel further staff training is needed so you don't waste food. Chairs in both restaurants could do with cleaning and updating.
There is a pool table upstairs and what a shame it's in the condition it is. No tips on cues baize table loose and rippled, not even a full set of balls and the side of the table broken and shoved under the table very poor to say you have maintenance staff wandering around!

The lodges are very spacious and have all you could need. They could at the moment do with a major clean as certain area's are getting a little unkempt, lots of spiders but under trees in a wood so some are expected. The golf course is interesting at times as more balls seem to hit trees rather than grass at the hole in front of the lodges. Good accommodation but found very little open in the area Sunday Monday night. Food in the sports bar is good, didn't try the restaurant as food not to our tastes.

The resort was great. The men really enjoyed the golf, the women loved the spa and afternoon tea. Evening meal was lovely. But the best thing was the staff. 10/10. All of them from front desk, spa and restaurant were amazing. Wish we could stay longer
