Great experience at The Plough in Waltham Abbey!

The food was really good—fresh, tasty, and served quickly with no long wait at all. There’s plenty of seating both inside and outside, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout.

It’s usually easy to walk in, but I’d recommend booking ahead during festive periods or on busy weekends, especially if you're going with a group.

Definitely a solid local pub worth visiting again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had the Ultimate Mixed Grill with peas and a jacket potato, then a Lemon Tart for dessert. Both were excellent, the only minor thing to note is that the steak was slightly chewy. Service was exceptional and food was delivered to the table unbelievably quickly considering the size of the group. We would absolutely go again.

After being unable to find a pub that could accommodate 21 of us, we found this amazing pub. Even though it was only a few hours before, Zara was extremely helpful in fitting our scout Group in for meals and drinks. On arrival Amelia made our experience so simple and efficient, taking drinks and food orders with ease and making what could have been a stressful situation very enjoyable.

The food arrived quickly and was hot, correct and amazingly good, (especially given we had 12 explorer Scouts and 9 adult leaders all ordering mains, deserts and drinks).

This is an amazing country style pub with great food, amazing staff and a fantastic interior / atmosphere.
Would highly recommend.

Very bad service from the manager, lack of communication. As a group of 12 people didn’t mention the table was reserved, 10min before the other group arrived told us to leave. She could let us know before we order. We did ask to swap a table for 5 people (kids was playing outside) till we finish our drinks, manager told us was nothing available, the place was empty. Food was good, service from the waiters was good, just the manager didn’t show any consideration at all.

Popped to this venue as a family of 3 with two dogs for a bite to eat. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas. Plenty of parking and great value.
2 Sunday roast carvery, Bacon & Cheese burger with added Halloumi fries, a bottle of Desperado and a pint of Stella. Just under £50.00.

Fantastic pub and staff. They accommodated our table of 21 Scouts within four hours notice of us calling. The food arrived so quickly and was amazing. Our server Amelia was incredibly helpful. The whole team were brilliant. Thank you Amelia, Piotr, Anna, Charlie, Lisa and Zara!

I’ve just come back from here and the food was really nice. It came quite quick but it was very hot. The restaurant was quiet. I would recommend and firm again.

No food, just a hot drink (driving). Quiet atmosphere, as it was early evening on a Monday. I have hearing loss, so can't hear in busy, noisy venues, but has rarely been an issue here. Have been many times with family, including Christmas Day on several occasions. Food is always good (except for the time I slathered horse radish sauce over my dinner, mistaking it for bread sauce). Had the two dogs with me, staff member brought them a bowl of water which was thoughtful. As a dyed-in-the-wool sofa bunny, the new ordering/payment system in pubs now, requiring only the use of my index finger, is a revelation.
