I stayed twice at this hotel this past week as it was very close to my mothers care home. The rooms were lovely. I had room 1 for 2 nights then after a night at home on the mainland I returned and was given room 2. The rooms were clean and cosy, with an excellent choice of hot drinks in the room. I was allowed to come and go as I pleased, which was important as mum was very poorly. I had the continental breakfast on one of the mornings. The staff could not do enough for me during my stay. They were kind, helpful and compassionate. If ever I return to Sandown I’ll book this lovely guest house.

We were greated with no breakfast included but you could pay an additional £5 for continental or £8 for English - why not just include it in the cost. Needless to say did not take advantage and didn't see anyone in the small dinning area either. We were offered use of microwave for evening but to be honest after a big lunch we only had snacks in our room so all good. Room was large and had small fridge which was useful for milk and other items so we could have tea/coffee/beer/juice. Good base but not much happening in Sandown (seems a little run down, with lots of places closed) but beach is large and clean and within walking distance.

We stayed in the hotel for a week and all we received was amazing service. Julie and Darren were the kindest and most welcoming people we have ever met and we were always available to guide us with the best places to go and visit alongside helping with any issues we had. The room was everything you could need and had daily housekeeping which included the condiments being regularly topped up and the downstairs room always being open so you can get any utensils you needed. We had the best stay and would 100% recommend and visit again!!?

Context, solo visit during walking holiday, from 28th until 31st of August. Situated a short walk from the seafront, high street and station, this B and B is friendly without being overwhelming - I'm not keen on having to make too much small talk at the breakfast table! Julie was very welcoming and made a point of supplying me with cereal, milk etc. for a breakfast in my own room as I would be leaving early one morning, which was hugely appreciated. The cooked breakfast (included in the price) is very tasty, and the choice of juice, cereal, fruit and croissants, as well as yoghurts is very good. Breakfast is from 8.30 to 9.30 as this is a small business (6 bedrooms). The room: I was in a single at the top of the house. There was no view, but quite frankly why do you want to stay in and look out the window when the beach is 5 minutes away? Everything was very clean, and the bed comfortable, with an optional extra cover in the wardrobe if things turned chilly. The decor was a little mismatched/worn, and the wardrobe, TV and en-suite tiny, but this didn't matter as the layout of the room and the overall cleanliness of the hallways/public spaces show that the owners have high standards of housekeeping and have got all the essentials right for people on short holidays. A nice touch was the extension lead under the bed for guests to use, and the mini fridges in the rooms. The selection of tea and coffee in the room was also really generous and refilled, a nice change from hotels that think one sachet of coffee and one of milk will do for an entire stay! There are cats, but they keep their distance and seem friendly: they certainly like to watch breakfast being eaten from their vantage point in the conservatory. Overall this is a small B and B that provides the basics really well, at very very reasonable prices. I would recommend for solo visitors who like a nice quiet location close to amenities, who want somewhere clean and warm after their day out on the island.

We stayed here for a few days! We had a lovely room which was quiet with a small ensuite with a great shower!! The guesthouse is about 10 to 15 minutes walk away from Sandown town centre, beach and cafes, restaurants and pubs!! The proprietors were lovely and friendly and if you want breakfast they can provide it for you at a good price!!

I stayed here for the second time in July 2018 in a single room. I have recently read a negative review, but not all the points are validated in my opinion. The breakfast is fine, tasty and set me up for the day each time. The owners were very nice and helpful and gave me some good restaurant recommendations. My bed was comfortable, the only minor thing I would say is the floor in the en-suite was rather creaky, nothing major to worry about. I slept well each night and overall enjoyed my stay and would stay again. Although I didn't need them, it said there was a microwave and toaster in the room, which I didn't see through my visit, although the iron and hairdresser were both available. It is a lovely place to stay for solo travellers.

We asked to check-in early as we were attending a funeral, that was done without a fuss. The family room was beautiful & the beds were so comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk which was great. Breakfast was cooked to order, cereals were available. The staff were very nice & very helpful. We would definitely stay there again
