Were due to stay here for a wedding - the rooms looked dirty and squalid, but there was nowhere else available in the area, so we booked it up very far in advance.

1 month prior to the wedding the hotel contacted us to tell us they'd cancelled our booking.

We had paid upfront for a non-refundable room - so were confused how this could happen. We later saw that the same room was now for sale at 3.5x the price we had originally paid.

We are now having to book a new room on the island at a premium due to last minute and the hotel will not even respond to our emails.

Don't book.

Oyo is honestly the worst hotel I have ever been to in my life firstly on arrival there was dirt and crumbs scattered across the floor and under the bed secondly all the light bulbs and batteries had been stolen and none of the radiators work and it was drafts as none of the windows would close. The bed was falling apart and was also invested with bed bugs. All of the wall paper was stained and it stunk of weed and living in there is people who do drugs and this is not ideal for bringing kids to as they may be unpredictable and unsafe. There was also chewing gum stuck to one of the walls and it was not removed in months no one cleaned the place properly and no one will address the bed bug problem so most rooms are probably invested to so make sure to check in case. Staff at this hotel as soon as we walked through the door started shouting at us and told us to leave even thought we had booked and had our information not a very welcoming space to be in as on welcome shouted at the lady that worked there telling us to leave was also holding a weed smoke in her hand and I am aware that the owner who lives there is also smoking weed and allowing unsafe criminals to live in the building. I would definitely avoid this place I wouldn’t even want to stay there if I was being payed to.

Nice clean basic hotel. Perfect for a getaway where u want to be right on the beach.

Social areas and rooms and nice and modern. With door code systems to get in.
Can be the only downfall is hearing door code machines giving warning sounds.. the hallways are dated but at least it's clean. . Only saw a couple members of staff and we didn't need help. But they were nice and polite.

AVOID THIS HOTEL.
Had to pay to park on the sea front before entering the hotel.
Room was extremely basic.
Fanlight had a bent sail, so didn't even dare to turn it on. Big crack in ceiling and mirror. Piece missing out of bedside table. Milk sachets out of date, only one cup for 2 people.
Dusty, as if it had been cleaned weeks before we checked in!
Curtains didn't close properly so still let in the light. Didn't try the shower so can't comment on that.
Booked for the night but checked out early!
For a budget hotel, there a cheaper and nicer hotels out there.

Very basic hotel, dated and extremely scruffy but the important bits were fine, bedroom absolutely okay as a bare bones affair. Shower and bathroom not too amazing but overall okay. In fairness it’s advertised as a budget hotel and it is, check is a DIY affair so read the blurb. Main issue was the fact that the place appears to double as some sort of a hostel for some fairly scary looking characters who don’t appear until after dark and that’s where the fun begins. At around half midnight we were woken by someone knocking loudly on the bedroom door. At first we decided it was safest to ignore it but after a minute or so it got louder and more aggressive. In the end I opened the door (against my better judgement) to a scary looking vagrant who was insisting we were watching tv at a loud volume. After some convincing him that the tv wasn’t on he left; truly scary stuff as he could have easily been carrying a knife with a malicious intent. We were both left shaken and the rest of the night was spent listening out for other stuff and it wasn’t long before the next occurrence which sounded as though someone was attempting to climb the wall outside. Anyway, thankfully morning came and we survived but all in all a truly terrifying place. My advice to anyone thinking of staying here is please don’t but if you do make you you are suitably equipped in terms of self protection equipment!

Horror hotel -
We arrived to no one available for check in which resulted in numerous phone calls to the manager. We finally got given our room which we were greeted with a man intoxicated and passed out in-front of our door, wasn’t even a guest at the hotel. Police were called to escort him out. Was not a safe environment.
The whole atmosphere stank of cigarettes even though it’s a non smoking site. The room was very minimal and had no tv remote, kettle or toilet roll.
The lack of maintenance and cleanliness had shown that the room was infested with bed bugs and their remains . We were absolutely mortified that we had to leave promptly and find elsewhere .

Very dated, untidy and not very clean hotel surrounded by derelict hotels which isn’t very inviting. Complete self service hotel so no one in-person to talk to so you have to call to speak to someone. The room I had was very dusty in places and has parts of the wall and ceiling crumbling caused by damp. The tv had no remote so was useless. The cups and saucers in the room weren’t clean. To top it off was going to go to sleep until some bed bugs made an appearance on the pillows. As there was no one to go and talk to it took a while for it to be sorted but was moved to another room promptly but it was just as dusty and run down. The tv in that room didn’t work very well. Also got woken up at 2am with police and ambulance in the hotel with flashing lights. Overall I wouldn’t recommend staying here as it’s just generally unclean, run down and just dirty with a not very nice vibe throughout the hotel.
