Dinner and breakfast booked in advance but arrived to find restaurant unavailable. Reception claimed it only closed the night before which is likely false based on many other recent reviews stating otherwise. A refund on the breakfast booking was promised but I am not optimistic as others have said these don't come through.|Bottom line: If you stay at a PI never add food to your booking and don't expect the restaurant to be operational when you arrive. Despite this you'll find adverts for the restaurant in the lift.|The room and bed were comfortable but that's about all PI have going for them these days. I found food from other establishments near by which was much better than the standard PI fare.

Room was a bit musty and windows don't open to prevent road noise so no access to fresh air, but apart from that everything was fine. Exactly what you expect from a Premier Inn. Good for us that they don't allow pets unlike Ibis. And parking is free too.

Just a warning there are approx 20 steps up to reception and no access ramp otherwise.
It's nestled around the back of a main road but exceptionally quiet, the rooms are the usual well equipped standard of premier inn. Reception very helpful and friendly ? loads of free parking that we'll lit, loads of work vans parked around the back which is always a half decent sign of it being secure. Rooms have AC which is always good.

Il start by saying, chef does the job, no issue with the food. ||However the “waiting staff” on the 14th, especially the one wearing the mckenzie hoodie, if you don’t want to be there you need to find another job. I stood inside the door for 5 minutes while 3 staff gossiped, I god bored and walked over to the till to oder food to be told because I was late it would be 40 min wait. So I ordered, sat down and 10 minutes later my burger turned up but extras didn’t. I finished the burger when the afore mentioned hoodie wearer was wandering the dining room asking who ordered what even though she took my order. After that was done I had to ask for the onion rings.||There is one lady who is quite petite that is lovely and is usually bang on but tonight the staff were beyond a joke.||If it wasn’t for the meal deal this place wouldn’t exist because of the lack luster staff.

Don't waste your money on this hotel. Windows don't open . There is no air in the rooms . We were up all night as heating was on 20 degrees all night. Was unable to alter it . No fans in the room. Noone on reception all night to help.
The key card was cheap and cheerful. Didn't work have the time . I will stay at Travelodge in future as the service is much better

The Premier inn hotel and room was the only thing that saved this from a ZERO! ||Room was nice enough what you expect from Premier Inn.|It had Air Con, and free onsite parking.||Then it went downhill.||Think Premier Inn have taken charge of the restaurant next door.|Went down with the family for breakfast, looking forward to it||At the hot buffet there was a plate with mess on it, on top of the pile of clean plates.|Not a good start.||Sausages looked like they’d been warmed with a candle as did the bacon.|Black Pudding the opposite crated and dry.|Mushrooms cold, tbf so was everything else.|No eggs at the time so when I’d went back to the table with plate of food and returned to get toast, noticed eggs were being put out.|So tossed the dry going stale bread into the toaster (I kid you not) |Picked up a tea plate and it was stuck to the plate below.|Turned it over and it was a butter wrapper I think.|Chose a different plate for the toast and returned to table and picked up my plate of cold breakfast and went and got eggs.|For me and my 11yr old.|Eggs were nice enough.||Went to get a coffee, and picked a cup/mug from the shelves under the machine.|As I pulled it out it was dripping.|(Thought they’d been washed and not dried)||Selected my drink and waited.|Spluttered a tiny amount into the cup, and then I was shocked to see the tray under the cup start leaking all over the cups and shelves beneath.|So that was what the liquid had more likely been that all the cups were sitting in! ||I told someone behind the bar and he seemed to know what was wrong straight away.|And grabbed some kitchen rolls and went to sort it!? ||I didn’t fancy one after that.||I went back to eat my breakfast and it was freezing cold! |I tried to eat as much as I could then just left it. |Didn’t feel like taking the risk.||My partner had got me a coffee to drink but I tried to explain what I’d seen.|Asking where she’d got the cup from.||Again I couldn’t bring myself to even try it.|Seemed ungrateful to my partner but it wasn’t that.|Just everything I’d seen put me off.|So left a premier inn breakfast for the first time not having ate much.|I needed food not long after, whereas I normally fill up and get through til tea time.||Plenty of staff stood around talking, more staff than customers almost.||Premier inn need to do some undercover checks as I don’t think the staff are up to it.|Don’t think the heat lamps keeping the food warm were on.|As well as it being undercooked for my liking.||Stayed the next night and didn’t waste my time or money going back.

We have stayed here a few times and normally no problems. The location is fine depending on where you want to be. It's near to the family we visit so all good. Rooms well you get good ones and bad ones. If your stuck next to the lift it can get a bit noisy if people are up and down it through the night. The biggest issue we had with the last stay was the the lad who dealt with us and sorry I can't remember his name and the lack of interest for the fact that he had just informed us as we arrived that the pub next was closed for renovations and did we get the e mail..... Now the person standing next to us must not have got the email if there ever was one in the first place. Now bearing in mind it's located in an industrial estate area where you have to travel to get food drink and breakfast and having not been told about this prior to travelling where we could have made alternate arrangements and it wasn't like it had just closed it had been closed for a while but his attitude was is that ok?. That's it. No apology then gave the key to the lad next to him to code in and even his colleague said only one key and he snapped back yes... No explanation just a very poor attitude in general. I have my doubt we will want to stay there again and I'm assuming that due to the fact we didn't get the normal email asking us how our stay was they knew it would be a poor review.

I booked in with my carer, for a two night stay at the Premier Inn Burton On Trent Central.|| ||The first disappointment was being told that the bar/restaurant where we had booked 'meal deals' was only going to be open from 1800hrs - leaving us with no where to go, except to stand around in the car park or lounge in our room - which only had one chair.... The gardens were shut and there was no outside seating available (as there had been in past years); not exactly fabulous for a lower leg amputee.....|| ||On arrival we had booked a table for two in the restaurant. Arriving slightly before the appointed time, we were informed by the staff that they were shorthanded and only had one chef available, and as a result there would be a considerable delay in service. Also service would cease at 2000 hrs That is simply unacceptable and just smacks of shoddy manpower management. We finally ate our meals at about 2050 - but they really were only lukewarm.|| ||The following morning we departed to attend an event and returned that evening, this time the restaurant appeared to have a more suitable number of staff, but all was not well even then....|| ||Having eaten, we bid goodnight to our colleagues and went off to our room. || ||At some ungodly hour the following morning (I estimate around 0200 hrs) I was woken by somebody 'jiggling' our room door handle, and making repeated attempts to insert and remove a key card. Assuming somebody had the wrong room I chose to ignore it rather than wake my carer. Shortly afterwards the disturbance (and whoever it was) stopped and went away. Having been disturbed in such a manner, I tried to go back to sleep. || ||A few minutes later however, whoever it was returned, and this time they actually opened the door!!!|| ||I immediately called out a challenged, which was responded to with some muted whispering and the door was shut.|| ||Rather more disturbed and concerned this time, I woke my carer who went to check the door security etc. I didn't get much sleep after that..... || ||What worried me most, was the fact that the only way the door could've been opened is if a member of the desk staff had authorised a key card! || ||Clearly they didn't bother to do the most basic of security checks! Which then begs the question what would've happened if we had been out of the room at the time? We had left various items of personal equipment etc in our room; an Ipad, camera, motorcycling equipment, radios and more; all of which could've been stolen due to a massive breach of security on the part of a Premier Inn Staff Member!|| ||The following morning I went to book out and asked who the night staff were, as I want to ascertain who was responsible for the disturbance earlier? || ||The staff member on the desk simply brushed off my request for info by telling me 'they had gone off shift' (which seemed odd to me, as she hadn't even logged onto your computer system yet). || ||It was only when I asked for a copy of our bill for my records purposes was it drawn to my attention that for some reason, a refund of a meal deal breakfast had been authorised on our account - without discussion, my agreement or consent! || ||The only conclusion I can draw from this is that the night staff knew that they had made a massive mistake and were trying to mitigate it...... || ||I was asked on site if I wished to complete a complaints form? I declined, on the basis that I simply didn't believed that the staff/management there would do anything further about it, clearly believing that a small meal refund was acceptable restitution for a massive breach of security and poor conduct over the previous two days!|| ||To say that I am unhappy with my stay at the Premier Inn Burton On Trent Central is a massive understatement! Not least of which, because we then faced a long journey back home, having had a very poor nights sleep! I shared my concerns with my carer, who agreed, and said that that next year we should seek alternative accommodation.|| ||My advice is simple - find somewhere else to stay and give this place and every other one as well a very wide birth!
