My partner booked a room for both of us, he was assigned a two single bed one. When he asked if there was the option to move to a double bed room, no answer. When we got there, the lady told us that we’d be charged an extra £20 for staying both of us. Rooms are tiny and definitely overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend.

a new property for us. location was good as literally a few minutes from train station. Check in is a little complicated and self service.no staff on premises.room was compact but with all amnenities we needed. bathroom /shower very small.was all ok until we wet to bed and discovered beds are v small and very soft. was woken at 5 am by very loud conversations from other guests as walls are clearly very thin.resulted in a not great nights sleep, so this would put us off returning tbh

The description of this guesthouse and its proprietor suggest a cozier, more welcoming experience than its reality.

Inga is nowhere in evidence. Though the site says she will greet guests upon checking in, she was never seen though she clearly lives on the premises and may have been the silent person sitting on the side of the parking lot in the darkness when we arrived (gave the place a creepy first impression).

If a basic clean no-frills stay is what you’re after this will do. But if you’re looking for a warm welcome to Cambridge as the description suggests you’ll be disappointed.

As other reviewers have mentioned it’s worth noting that the walls are very thin.

Lovely little guest house. I stayed here for 1 night; the rooms were very cosy - small, but this is listed in their description. I quite liked the size, but it still had an ensuite and a TV. The mattress is memory foam and I had a really good sleep!

It’s a 5 minute walk from cambridge station, so it’s very central. Everything is within a walking distance.

The host (if you meet her), is lovely. She’s very friendly and accommodating.

Theres a coffee machine too (complimentary) and the cappuccino was delicious!

The rooms are quite close to each other, so there are thin walls. I knew this beforehand so I took my earplugs with me, which always work.

We stayed at this guest house for a night, as we were in Cambridge for the theatre.|It's pretty well located within walking distance of the town centre, and there is a great range of places to eat nearby, should you need, as there's no food served at A & B. Our room was tiny, a smallish bed, a tiny ensuite, overall very cramped. Within the tiny space it did have all that you'd need though and at the price charged only what you'd expect. There seems to be lots of rooms in a pretty confined space,but it works if you understand that system and it's pricing.|Check in was simple and well organised but without needing any kind of actual reception staff.|Altogether it met our needs well and was a safe, clean and well organised guest house.

Despicable!

I cannot comment on the facilities as I have not made it that far.

I booked a two-night stay in advance and received written confirmation from the manager. We exchanged pleasantries and explained the rules, including the self-check-in process. I was given a code to enter the property and advised that an envelope with my name containing a room key would be waiting. After arriving at the accommodation around 4:30 p.m. and entering the building, I was shocked to find no key waiting for me.

I called the accommodation, but they declined my call and texted me to say they “can't speak right now.” I explained the situation and asked for their assistance, to which I was repeatedly ignored and given non-helpful verbiage.

After repeatedly ignoring me, I had no choice but to contact Booking.com, who contacted the property advising that if they didn't resolve the situation within 45 minutes, they would cancel the booking and offer a free refund. Spoilers—they didn't respond. Hence, it was cancelled, and Booking.com helped find alternative accommodation nearby. From arriving at 4:30 in the evening for a critical Viva presentation the following day, I was not accommodated until 11 p.m. that evening.

A & B Guesthouse then had the gumption to message me saying they did not cancel the accommodation. They forgot that Booking.com can do so when service providers do not uphold their responsibilities.

This incredibly stressful situation would have been avoided had I booked somewhere else. Had I booked directly, I would have NOT been offered a refund. If you want to endure anxiety and risk losing money, then by all means, book now…at your own risk!

Excellent stay at this guest house Clean cozy rooms friendly staff and great location. Highly recommended The amenities were top-notch and the breakfast was delicious. Perfect value for money. 5/5 stars good staff and highly recommend.
