A lovely place, a nice welcome with clear instructions from host. The rooms were a nice size, very clean and nicely prepared. Parking is a little limited but adequate.

Breakfast was a little 'hurried' and the toast was forgotten and brought out cold afterwards. Host was not available to inform it was missing. But, this will not stop us visiting again.

A nice budget b&b very close to the city centre.||Room very nice and cosy but incredibly noisy as it is on the main road. Particularly noisy apart from midnight until 5.30am. So if you are a light sleeper probably not for you.||Breakfast is cooked although no choice. Ingredients are low quality but it seems to be cooked fresh. You will be asked for a time on arrival for breakfast.||Staff aren’t very chatty and never come back to ask if anything is okay so no chance to ask for anything else.

Such a well presented b&b. This is a return visit as we enjoyed it so much last time. The family are just so nice and the rooms are immaculate. Lots of power points and chairs to sit on. Lovely bed linen. We'll be back again.

I arrived at this ghastly and decrepid hovel of a place earlier today. Not only did it look dingey from the outside, I was filled with foreboding as I rang the "doorbell" and waited at the ailing green gloss door for someone to open it. Little did I expect to be screeched at by Golum, in that most awful of Cumbrian accents that would make envy the deaf and hard of hearing, but I was abruptly and abrasivley refused entry and told to leave. I made the mistake of paying in advance and was refused a refund. I write this review as a warning to anyone considering this as a potential accomodation. Best to be avoided.

We stayed at Abberley for two nights whilst walking Hadrian’s Wall. It is very close to the trail which was great for us!||The room (4) we had was incredibly clean and had everything we needed. We also received a warm welcome from the host, Oliver, who seemed lovely and took great pride in keeping the hotel spotless.||Unfortunately the hotel is situated on an incredibly busy and noisy road — so noisy that it was impossible to sleep with the window open at night. This was a real problem because we stayed in early June during a heatwave. Because of this, we got almost no sleep on our first night. On our second night we asked for and were thankfully given a fan, so slept slightly better. Even with the window closed and fan on however you could still hear the road.|The bed was fine for us as two 5”7 people, but any taller and you’ll struggle — it wasn’t a full sized bed which was quite odd.|On the breakfast, this was also disappointing. The continental options were limited and the cooked portions, meagre. |On our first morning, we asked for scrambled eggs on toast. This consisted of one piece of toast and quite undercooked scrambled eggs, it wasn’t pleasant.|On our second morning, not wishing to eat raw scrambled eggs again, we asked for a bacon sandwich. Instead of a bacon sandwich, we were given one piece of cheap white toast and a single rasher of bacon…it was very poor value for money.||All in all, we probably wouldn’t stay here again, but with some improvement (especially around breakfast) this place could be great.

A b&b close to the centre of Carlisle. Stayed here for 6 nights. Situated on a busy road with quite some traffic. The rooms are somewhat outdated but very clean. The bed are too small for people over 1,70 meter. Bedding was good and clean. Shower did work well at my room.|The lady who served us breakfast every morning was very kind. We could choose our breakfast, even vegan sausages. Also muesli, flakes, yoghurt, juice and fruit.

Our accommodation at the end of the first day of walking the wall. They had a boot tray where we could leave our boots in the hall. Comfy bed. Good breakfast which we were able to customise. Small car park and a short walk from the Hadrian's wall trail
