First of all let me start off with a huge thank you to a fellow Romanian, I believe his name is Florian. He was incredibly helpful and helped us with a room upgrade, and a very nice birthday package! If there is a commission to be given, I think it should go to him. This isn't to say that the rest of the staff were bad, on the contrary they were lovely.

Rooms are very nice, very luxurious for the price, and decorated in a retro style. As for the location, it's bang on in the middle of bath, not much more you can ask for.

There are 2 issues though: One of them is parking. Disappointed to have to drive to the nearest parking lot and pay and arm and a leg for overnight parking. At least they allow you to store your luggage before you head out to park. The other issue I have, is the 3pm check in time..it seems really late to me, and doesn't allow me to arrive early and rest for a bit before heading out to explore. Surely they can manage a 12pm check-in at least, right?

Overall though, great experience and would happily recommend it, especially for the price.

Wonderful location, and very friendly and helpful staff. We had a two bedroom suite, which is easily the largest hotel room I've even had, and well appointed. The bathroom was very spacious with modern fittings in a classical style. The hotel as a whole has a lot of character, housed in a very old building, so whilst there is a central lift there are still steps, stairs, twists and turns to get to some of the rooms. Food was good, both dinner and breakfast, with decent veg and fish options. I'll mention again the staff, who stopped to chat and were very helpful at various different points. Sally gets a special call out for being so warm and friendly, and for treating my wife so well on her birthday.

Nicely decorated rooms, not sure that the cinematography rooms are really worth the increased cost. Not very big space, with massive TV
Walls were pretty thin and you could hear the occupants in the adjacent rooms.
Great central bath location. Had an enjoyable stay.
Couldn’t actually deliver a coffee with breakfast despite being asked for it twice!

We visited the Abbey Hotel for afternoon tea for my daughter’s 24th birthday having googled places online. Opted for the Abbey Hotel and we are so glad we did. The experience was amazing and exceeded our expectations. We were greeted in the restaurant by Sally who really was fantastic from start to finish. She made us feel very welcome and made it super special for us. The cream tea and choice of organic teas was fantastic. Sally’s friendliness, humour and power to make you feel special is to be congratulated. What an asset to the hotel she is. After our cream teas she came with mini cakes with a candle in and sang happy birthday to my daughter, which really was the icing on the cake (excuse the pun). We enjoyed it so much that we said we would come back to actually stay next time we are in Bath, as this time we were staying at another hotel. Especially as we can bring our dog next time 🙂

We were originally booked in an Airbnb but the heating had broken in it so luckily we found a room at the Abbey Hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We also have a small dog and were happy to hear the hotel has pet friendly rooms. The staff were always very happy to help with anything and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely use this hotel again when we visit Bath again. Thank you everyone you saved our holiday!

Our first trip to Bath from the States. We couldn’t have picked a better hotel to create our first memories of England. Delightful experience. Our room was beautiful, stylish and clean. And the service? Just wow. Great staff but we just have to name check Sally who is a real asset and added to our wonderful experience here. Her smiles lit up the hotel as much as the Christmas lights! Thank you!!

Go in with the expectation of say a travel lodge or premier inn and you will be fine.

Bed is fine, breakfast is fine, room is fine.

No real service at the desk, person on their phone most of the time, no good morning or any conversation when you check in.

Good location though, close to everything. Just at £200 a night I had higher expectations but likely increased price due to time of year, not due to increased quality being offered.

A nice hotel, with friendly staff, very centrally located.|As other people have mentioned there is no parking at the hotel and the nearby two story car park was very crowded and not cheap (£25 a day).|The breakfast was very good and they do a vegan/vegetarian breakfast which was excellent. We had excellent service from Sally. She was very friendly and professional and attentive with us!
