A budget hotel a short walk to the town centre. My double room was clean with a great view of the Chilterns. The bed was firm with good quality linen. The shower was hot with plenty of pressure. Just what I needed. The staff were helpful and let me keep my expensive bicycle in my room, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was as advertised. Grab and go. Plenty of bacon for a big roll. A bit of fruit and a muffin, all washed down with some pretty decent filter coffee. This place ticked all the boxes I wanted it to.

Initial impressions were good - great location (5 min walk to town centre), plenty of on-site parking and friendly greeting and check in. Room and hotel generally tired. No sound-proofing - people in room above seemed to drop shoes, bags, etc onto their floor and very thin walls so kept awake by noisy neighbours who were channel hopping tv and talking loudly over it until around 2 am. Breakfast was unappetising and bland - two keep-warm metal containers of bacon to put into burger type buns and some squashed croissants, some of which were individually packed and some open to the fly which was buzzing around.

Stayed here with 2 other people for work. The rooms were ok. Our room was clean enough, and we had clean bedding. The shower was a bit temperamental with pressure, but nothing to complain about the biggest letdown was the breakfast. I've got to say it's disgusting that this place can get away with it belive me the pictures online are fake or from years ago we went down for breakfast at 07:30 and all there was to eat was 4 apples a tub of yogurt a couple of pastries and a bit of bread and some jam's/ marmalade but get this no toaster I mean come on that's ridiculous! All there was hot to eat was 3 bits of bacon that looked like skin shavings, and when we asked if there was anything else, we got told no. Sorry, that's all there is! Now I work in removals and was looking forward to a good meal to give me some energy, but no, i had to go on an empty stomach apart from the orange juice I had, which would've been even better with some hot food. My boss paid £150 for 2 rooms and 3 people I know that is cheap and we weren't expecting the world just a comfy bed which it was and a good shower but for us it was the breakfast in the morning as our work would take 4-5 hours and our drive home another 3 hours so that would have been the perfect start the staff were OK nothing special but for me I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone sorry guys must do better

upon arrival, we were greeted by a very lovely man who was willing to help with anything especially when we went out to get food and he assured us that he would be there all night, the cold drinks fridge in reception was a nice touch too. |the room was mediocre at best, for a family room it was very cramped and there was a wonky, wobbly shelving unit placed right in front of the door which we walked into straight away. |good selection of tea and coffee, mugs and glasses were clean. |bathroom was very dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment as there was a leaky tap and a broken toilet seat. |bed looked clean but smelt like chip fat so we had to spray it before going to sleep, mattress was incredibly hard and the pillows were paper thin, as were the walls. Luckily i brought earplugs with me however the other people in my room complained about how you can hear everyone’s TVs and conversations at night. |the breakfast was absolutely GRIM, eggs looked like they’d been there for months and did not taste like eggs at all, bacon was rock solid and you couldn’t get a knife in it if you tried, beans and mushrooms weren’t that bad but cold by 8am since breakfast starts at 6:30am. good selection of juice and tea was good quality, toast was cheap quality however. |the hotel is in a good location though and easy to get to shopping centre, pubs and the train station. |moderately good value for money but would not come back

Again, another great stay. Staff we welcoming and talkative. Cleaners were more than helpful and flat out on a hot day. Room was a single occupation with double bed. No issues at all. |Kettle was clean, cups were clean, glasses were crystal clear. The bathroom was a shower, toilet and sink. Nothing horrible. ||Prime location with a good price. Fourth visit now, and I will continue to use it for the foreseeable.

The Abbey Lodge Hotel was our choice of stay in High Wycombe simply because of the price. To be completely honest, when we arrived I was surprised. |Plenty of free parking behind the hotel, in the reception ( which is manned 24hrs) is a fridge for cold drinks, which you ask the staff for. The bottled water is £1 and varied soft drinks at £2.|We were greeted by a very cheerful lady, who let us check in at 12 instead of 2, which again is surprising .|Our room was a nice size, with a double bed, 2 bedside cabinets, flat screen tv , tea / coffee facility and aircon. Shower over bath with toiletries and towels supplied. The bed was really comfortable.|Breakfast is pretty standard of cooked or cereals and is self service in a basement dining room|Located really close to the town centre but don't believe apple maps because it says a 17 minute walk, just go out the front door, turn right and 5 minutes ( at most) later, you are in town.|All of the staff we encountered were lovely.|All in all an excellent place to stay

Liked · Well the staff is fantastic! other than that, there is not much to like. I mean you pay for what you get I guess, should have known UK is an extremely expensive country to visit, even if High Wycombe is away from London, Well you live and learn, I think the pictures of the place here are from a long time ago. :/

Disliked · Honestly the place seems a pretty rundown. I am surprised to see people rate this place anything above a 7. The rooms have minimum feet to it. The biggest problem is the building itself is way too old, needs a good revamp. Again props to the staff for doing a great job for what they have. This is minor, but the body wash tubes they provide are crazy hard to open. Wish they just had the normal pump bottles. More sustainable option as well.

Underrated hotel, arguably the best in the area with a few caveats. The facilities are visibily dated and haven't been refurbished in years - but all the main things like bedding, cups, bathroom etc were immaculate. The location is great and I think it's the only hotel in the center with free parking, but the hill it's on is not for the faint hearted. My only other issue was the shower because the water took ages to heat up and the head was criminally small. Definitely worth the price, and could do so much better with a bit of fresh paint and new decor.
