A fantastic B&B. Jayne is so welcoming as is Ruby the Springer Spaniel and the Tabby cat whose name we never found out. There are only 2 rooms which adds to the appeal for us. The location itself is supremely peaceful set at the top of a hill the views are outstanding. We greatly enjoyed our stay last weekend and are definitely planning a return trip. If you want a peaceful quiet retreat for a day or two in a beautiful part of the country I would highly recommend this place. The Rose and Crown a short walk away is a great place for an evening bite to eat as Jayne only does breakfast (which was delicious!)

We had an excellent stay at Ackroyd House. Set in a beautiful part in the countryside, the B&B is in such a good location. Quiet and peaceful, we had two very pleasant nights. Very comfortable beds. Large attractive rooms with picture windows. Delicious breakfast. Plenty of room to park. Owner could not have been more friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed at Ackroyd House for short break in mid-October 2020. The location is stunning and Jayne is a fantastic host. All the normal pandemic-related measures were in place, so safety was not a concern. Our room was clean, warm, and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing! There were plenty of great restaurants in Holmfirth, which were still open and operating as normal (October 2020). The beautiful peak district trails are a short drive away. My wife and I are already planning to go back, we really cannot compliment Jayne enough. ||||Don't let the pandemic keep you locked at home; a great staycation is possible!

Just spent 2 nights at this stunning B&B. Can't recommend it highly enough. Very large room (suite), spotlessly clean and stunning views. The bed was so comfy, we had a very peaceful sleep. Jayne (the owner) is so lovely and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic breakfast. We will definitely return. Had such a lovely break.

Our stay at Ackroyd House was fab from the moment we was greeted by Jayne who was very friendly welcoming, she showed us to our room which was on the ground floor called The Stable it was gorgeous and more like an apartment. There was another bedroom upstairs which I think has a similar layout. |The fluffy dressing gowns were a lovely touch and all the added extras of tea and coffee facilities, water & even sweets. |I appreciated the dressing table and mirror especially plus there are plenty of sockets. |There was a small hand mirror in the bathroom and plenty of toiletries, fresh towels plus a hairdryer. I did notice a travel cot. There’s plenty of wardrobe space and coat hangers. |The seating area is a great idea, we had a very comfortable stay and would definitely recommended this fab B&B |Breakfast was made to order and was perfect, cooked to your request with plenty of choice. |We had a brisk walk around the village and had a lovely meal at The Rose & Crown which was within walking distance. |If I had any criticism at all and it’s only a small one is that it would of been nice to have a few biscuits with our brew but obviously wouldn’t put us off staying here again. |Thanks again Jayne x

We have just returned from 2 nights at Ackroyd House. The house has stunning views,and the lady who owns it is a fantastic host. The breakfast was delicious and we were made to feel very welcome. There is a good pub, the Rose and Crown a short walk away where we eat two nights, food good and reasonably priced.

celebrated our wedding anniversary at Aykroyd House the host Jane was wonderful, very friendly and welcoming the house itself was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. we had the valley view room stunning views across to Holmfirth.There were some nice touches in the room including three different style of glasses for own drinks consumption cosy dressing gowns, and throws. In the bathroom a razor for men and some discrete sanitary items were provided.|Breakfast was excellent and my wife's ceoliac allergy was taken into account by Jane we had our own table beautiful laid out overlooking the countryside.|This was the first visit to Aykroyd House but would highly recommend it thanks again Jane.

Stayed here recently after a very busy wedding ahead of a move abroad. This was the perfect retreat, away from the hustle and bustle and nestled at the top of a small village. I found this place purely by chance online but can't recommend it enough. Jayne was an absolutely lovely host, even allowing us use of the garden and sorting out some roses for the room ahead of our arrival. The bed was unbelievably comfortable with some absolutely stunning views of the valley. Breakfast was excellent too. Cannot think of a single fault.
