My daughter and I went to Albrighton Spa day, it was a package with a massage and afternoon Tea. We were treated by a wonderful young man, he was so friendly, warm. He said for us to have a drink in the area near the entrance. Wonderful pool area, Vry relaxing, ice room, saunas steam room , plenty of beds to relax on. A wonderful massage . Then at the end of the day a lovely afternoon tea, in a beautiful setting. What a day! Highly recommended

Nice location but was disappointed by the hotel. Toilet seat wasn't the right size for the toilet (square toilet seat on a round bowl - I mean come on), jacuzzi wasn't working in the spa, no travel cot in the room despite the request, room far from reception and had to go outside to get between the two, hardly any signs, keys locked us out after the first night etc. not what you would expect for such price and star rating. Felt sorry for one of the guests who was on a spa day but couldn't use the jacuzzi.

Very mixed experience at the Albrighton Hall. Staff were excellent throughout, from reception to the bar to breakfast, and saved me from giving this hotel two stars.

My room was decent sized but generally tired. The mattress was very good but the pillows were awful, flat and hard. There were stains on the carpet and bedding. The bathroom was also good sized but tired.

The hotel was hosting a party the night I stayed, with music going on til midnight. I was not made aware of this when booking. A number of the doors near my room were also poorly dampened with slamming throughout the night.

Breakfast was high quality, cooked well, although a relatively limited range.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds although a number of the lights in the car park and along the driveway were not working. I did not use the spa so cannot comment on this. The hotel is a short drive outside of Shrewsbury so well located for a short break.

Overall, I would not return as, despite the ancillaries such as the bar and breakfast being good, this hotel does not get the basics right.

Lovely one night stay at this hotel. Had trouble finding it with the sat nav which did some strange things and it was horrible weather so we didn’t arrive in the best of moods. From the moment we arrived the staff were so friendly and inviting that the mood soon improved. I tried out the spa and pool which were all quite empty of partakers (wet Thursday afternoon) and had my nails polished. I felt very indulged and the lovely lady in the spa treatments room did a great job on my nails and was lovely to chat to. Evening meal in the restaurant was very olde-world service which is rare these days and the food was fabulous. We both had the lamb which was served very tender. Breakfast again in the same restaurant was very good and a shout-out to the lady staff member who noticed my husband’s visual impairment and offered assistance if it was needed with the buffet style breakfast. In all our time visiting hotels in our country nobody has ever offered before and this was very much appreciated as a thoughtful gesture. It should happen elsewhere but in our experience it doesn’t and although we didn’t need help because I could assist my husband I do really appreciate other people looking out for him. It is a lovely old hotel dressed up for Christmas and felt very Agatha Christie style which I love. I believe it has very recently changed hands so I hope it remains true to its identity and the new owners look after their friendly helpful team of staff. It probably needs a bit of a refresh in general but old hotels are quirky and I don’t mind creaking floorboards with a bit of flaky paintwork as long as it’s clean. All in all it was a very enjoyable albeit brief stay and I would certainly revisit if the opportunity arose.

We went for a overnight stay through secret escapes, this is a beautiful setting, hotel and spa very clean and relaxing. The staff are all very attentive and helpful. The food is amazing we chose to eat in the oak room on the evening from the al la cart menu. It was very tasty a lovely posh room to eat in. You can eat in the bar area which has a different menu. We loved it and would definitely recommend and go back. The Spa was brilliant too.

We are currently staying here on day two, and heading home tomorrow.
We have had a wonderful time so far,
We had a slight delay with our food order last night, but, when it arrived, it was well worth the wait.
The staff are fantastic, the rooms are perfect.
We are staying in the school masters house which is perfect if you have a dog.
I cant believe what some reviewers complain about, I have stayed in a lot of hotels costing double the price that aren't have as good.

Also, lovely to meet Jazz, who I believe is new to the team.

The hotel and location are stunning.|Although it was sub zero temperatures the room was warm and included an additional heater.||Pros:|We booked directly with the hotel rather than with Secret Escapes or Wowcher. This was cheaper (approximately £50!) Spa access, a dinner voucher (£20pp Wowcher and £25pp Secret Escapes) and robe and slippers are ALL part of a deal at the hotel if you book a Superior Room that includes a sofa bed (half board option)! We seven asked for an upgrade which they granted.||Oak Restaurant|Lovely choice of delicious good available. Great quality.||Bedroom|Very comfortable double bed with ample pillows. Lots of floor space. Immaculate bathroom with separate shower from bath.||Cons:|Spa|A few technical issues at the Spa but I blame the weather. No jacuzzi, aromatherapy steam room or snail showers operational. I think the pipes were frozen. The two saunas and steam room were working and that was fine for us.||Buffet breakfast|Heat lamps mean the bacon was tough, but that's to be expected with a buffet.||Food at the bar|There's a wider selection of food at the bar BUT the quality of meals at the restaurant was superior. The burger meals were not worth the price, however if you're looking for choice it's a good option.

Had a lovely two day stay. The hotel is charming with excellent staff. Dinner in the Oak Room was very good and a really comfortable place to be. Nice bar and took advantage of the spa. A great base to visit Shropshire from. Will definitely stay again and I’m looking forward to it.
