Lovely bunkhouse! Communal area would be quite compact if bunkhouse is at full capacity. But comfy beds, good shower and fully functioning kitchen. Would stay again ?

Enjoyed a two night stay at the bunkhouse at quite short notice. Its small but perfectly formed. Provided with a door code on booking. Just two or three others staying when I stayed. Kitchen dining area is well equipped and good to talk to other visitors around the table in the evening. No easy chairs available but space is at a premium in this simple hostel. Everything seemed clean and the place was serviced daily. The dorm beds are a little on the small side (I'm 6 ft 2 so this is often an issue for me) but there are plenty of pillows and there are personal lights for each bed. There is a small drying room and a secure bike store. The bunkhouse is so well situated with the Long Mynd literally on your doorstep up the hill. It is so peaceful. I will definitely return hopefully with warmer and drier weather!

Another stay at this fantastic find , the hosts are so helpful and friendly, the accommodation is spotless and has all you need . Hidden away up a small valley, you have direct access to miles of walking , biking or just admire the amazing views, pub with good food 5 min walk away , or church stretton in 15. Hope we can get back next year?

Stayed once before in 2018 so knew what to expect. Well kitted kitchen with complimentary tea, coffee and sugar. Stayed 3 nights and had place to ourselves for 2. Saturday was busy but knew and booked a table down the lane at The Yew Tree. Nice people staying there and a lovely host in Mike who lives next door. Perfectly quiet with great walking (running for some) and cycling.

I had expected a "bunkhouse" to be quite basic but this one was really comfortable. I have nor had such quality duvet at yha before and certainly not 2 pillows. Underfloor heating was nice too.|Fab views. Easy to walk from the front door. Wifi fine. Dryer was an unexpected bonus. Could see that the kitchen could be crowded if all 10 beds taken and it was not the weather to use the outdoor space ( picnic table) as well. Might also be a wait if 10 people sharing facilities( 1 shower room with sink and toilet, and another toilet and sink.|But it is called a bunk house and priced accordingly so i felt it was very comfortable.|Only issue i woyld have had was signage. Having booked via yha, more yha signs would have been needed had the owner not phoned me with directions. I did not know it was also independent hostel. Google maps would have got me there probably but it was reassuring to know that i was not lost just because the track was not surfaced all the way and that turning right over the cattle grid at the top of the track was also correct.

A great location for a hostel with many walking options right from the door. It is a bit small and the common area is a bit undersized (there were 7 people out of a capacity of 10 when I stayed and the common area/kitchen was a bit crowded in the evening). Despite the size, the bunkhouse has everything I needed for a quick overnight stay.

This is fantastic bunkhouse - warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The location is great for walking, with beautiful scenery all around. It's a 30-minute walk from Church Stretton, so easily manageable by public transport.

This place is lovely! Was not expecting much as it is called a bunk house but it is much better than that. 2 rooms each with 2 sets of bunk beds and a twin room, a shower room with sink and loo and another loo with sink, and a kitchen diner. Bit hard to find possibly; in my case Google maps was right but it is up a narrow lane, which becomes a track, and then turn in over a cattle grid. Had I not had a call from the owner I might have had doubts especially arriving in the dark.
Once there it was really comfortable. Under floor heating, thick duvets and 2 pillows! Oven and microwave, WiFi, a dryer, picnic table outside if season/ weather suitable. Fabulous views across the valley and plenty of birdlife on the feeders to watch from the window. It is international hostel as well as YHA, so both signs take you to same place. I had a really comfortable peaceful stay.
