We were delighted with the service and quality of equipment and tableware which we hired from Allens - but most of all, we have to say a huge 'thank you' to the amazing Drifa for her fantastic help and support. Drifa led us through the whole process with her extensive professional knowledge, superbly prompt and efficient communication and outstanding administrative skills. She made a huge difference to our whole event, especially as we had to rely on her to help us even with equipping the 'field kitchen' due to our caterer's delays in communication. Drifa was unfailingly friendly, patient and efficient, whatever the query - and was always a step ahead, having usually double-checked the answers to questions that might arise from the original query before I had even posed the question! The tableware and equipment we hired were all of excellent quality and arrived in good condition, and were delivered and collected punctually. Thanks to Drifa, the admin process of paying the deposit, checking the invoices and receiving the returned deposit all worked smoothly. I was amazed at the huge range of tableware offered by Allens and would certainly use them again - especially if Drifa is there to help!

Really helpful team on the phone, equipment arrived spotless and on time (was particularly impressed with the shine on the cutlery!), and the delivery team were really efficient and friendly.

Allens were also incredibly accommodating to a last minute change I needed to make the day before collection - I needed the equipment picking up at 8am and they changed my slot with no problems, or additional charge. 10/10 recommend for any event hire needs.

We contacted Allens Hire on Friday 22nd December looking for a large order for black table cloths for an event we were hosting on Boxing Day. They were incredibly accommodating and helpful and I will definitely be using them again in the future.

I went to Allens hire as they had contacted my catering company for business over the previous year . A late notice wedding came up and our usual hire company couldn't supply All the hot cupboards required .
So I gave them a try on a wedding for 190 .
All was well and good enough service until it came to getting our deposit back , They wanted to charge for 4 plastic boxes 280 quid and the glass breakages were at a level we have never seen on a wedding before .
I have been in event catering all my career and present business for 6 years . I have never lost a plastic crockery box or been charged for 1 ever . All returns were packed and checked as our team always do and it just did not happen.
I asked to talk to a director, but the director was never available and did not call me as I was told they would.
Refusal to accept their warehouse mistake .
Appalling new customer attitude!!
Stay away from this company. They only respond to positive reviews on here and first form of defence is attack .....
