We were placed here by the council while we waited for our homelessness case. From the outside the building already looks scary. You can already tell the rooms are dark and mouldy. The Inside reeks of urine, flies everywhere, carpets rotting, the curtains falling apart, mould growing in the structure of the building, this doesn't need renovation, this building needs tearing down. Then more shock when I run into families with babies and young children that have been placed into this vile building. My own child a teenager, my heart ached as she told me she was struggling to breathe in the mould infested, flea infested, urine soaked and damp and putrid air. My initial image of a beautiful city with beautiful buildings and a warm people now totally sqashed and replaced by the knowledge underneath it all, this is how they really treat the homeless of their city, without regard or care. Edinburgh City Council, this is not right!

Very handy bus services straight to Edinburgh. Room clean, comfortable and quiet. Own key to front door so no curfew. Breakfast a disappointment as very basic with no trimmings at all. Very friendly proprietor who appeared to be doing it all single-handedly.

Very friendly, great size room fitted a double bed and our travel cot. Shower had a lot of water pressure and very hot. Breakfast was fast and made to order for đŸĨ“ sausage and egg. Very tasty.

From the advert and photos on booking.com believed this place to be a reasonable and satisfactory place to stay. At best it's a hostel, at worst a shelter/halfway house. Terrible nights sleep and not very clean.|Staff helpful enough, they recommended going elsewhere to get a better and cheaper breakfast. |Might of been a nice place once but now looks like they've chosen to make their money up from Social benefits clients

Friendly atmosphere, clean rooms, breakfast was delicious. Just remember it's Almond House not Almond Lodge. Central to airport, the Highland center, easy reach for all types of evening meals not far away.
Highly recommend. Love the elephant curtains xx

Although the reception staff were friendly we wish we had read previous reviews on this place!!! It is more of a life house/hostel than a hotel and at ÂŖ60 a night for room only definately not a buget price. Felt intimidated on entering and leaving the building by people hanging around outside drinking and smoking what was definately not normal cigarettes and wondering round the cars. There was no hot water at all and tried filling the bath with boiled kettles which didn't stay full due to the plug not fitting. The beds felt like the springs had broken each time we moved and the latches on the windows were broken. | We was bitterly disappointed as it came across as a lovely hotel on the site. The only reason we stayed was because we were just passing through on an itinerary. It is a shame as the location is a beautiful area but cannot recommend it at all.
