Went for a family get together for festive drinks. Knowing that we were bringing along young children they catered for us perfectly and booked us in the most suitable area that worked great for us. It was out of the way of other guests and was a safe space to let the little ones move freely and have space to play. We could not have asked for more. Even though it was a busy time of year with lots of Christmas celebrations taking place, the service was second to none. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The service was quick and all the staff were very friendly. We were regularly checked on to make sure we were ok which was nice. We will definitely be booking again in the future. Thank you to everyone at the Angel and royal hotel!

Spacious car park. Welcoming staff. Lovely historic building. Clean everywhere. Room was very good, comfortable bed. En suite was clean. Shower was excellent, would've stayed in it longer but we were going out. Real ale in the bar from the local Zest brewery. Excellent large full English breakfast.

Our 2nd time here at the Angel and Royal and it is always amazing being there. The building is awesome the rooms are very romantic and comfortable really didn’t want to leave. We had cocktails which was only next door to the hotel and they were lovely! Staff were so nice and friendly when we ordered room service the food was spectacular. This will definitely be our most visited place and will be back again for sure. Thank you everyone for making us feel very welcome and comfortable during our stays.

This is the 4th time we have stayed here this year and can not get over how fabulous the staff are. We have stayed in rooms in the courtyard and the main building, all of which offered value for money but the junior suite was my favourite. We have had Sunday lunch, Christmas lunch, weekday lunch and 2 evening meals all of which were of a high standard, well cooked, presented and served in a timely manor. The hotel itself is a bit of a rabbit warren upstairs but is well sign posted. There is no lift because of the age of the building but the staff are more than willing to help you with luggage should you need it, we even had a young waiter stop what he was doing to take a small over night bag off my husband and carry it to our room as he could see he was struggling slightly. The public rooms downstairs are really comfy where you can have coffee and relax.

Wonderful building with an interesting history. The rooms were spacious and in keeping with the traditional aesthetic. Smart TV in the room was a nice touch. The bed was very comfy and the room cosy.

Special mention to all the staff and the lady at reception who was so friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great stay.

We had lunch in the Bistro on 09/01/25 and the whole experience was excellent. On arrival we were greeted very pleasantly and professionally and then shown to our table in the Bistro - the room is attractive and our table was well presented and the cutlery etc of very good quality . We decided to choose from the light lunch menu , which has plenty of choice , and the order for drinks and food was taken in good time - not too hurried or too slow. The food was well presented and delicious and we all enjoyed our overall experience.

Didn't stay so can't rate the rooms, but this is our favourite lunch spot in Grantham. The food is excellent though not cheap and the service superb. It's in a good location on the north side of the town centre with a private car park which you will need a code to exit.

Had a late Sunday lunch. It was absolutely fantastic. My wife had the roast beef and I had the the lamb. Both meals were superb. Cooked correctly and very generous, also, the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding were all cooked perfectly. We would definitely look this place up if we are ever in the area again.
