Has given itself 4 stars, which it may have been many years ago. Certainly not now. It's a nice hotel in a picturesque area with lovely grounds. Needs work to bring it back up to scratch. Good value for the winter deal, but I wouldn't pay much more. The spa was a bit of a letdown for my wife. Not really at the level advertised. Dinner was good, but breakfast was just an average buffet.

Lovely stay. Food was excellent as was the service in the bar and restaurant. Room was spacious and quiet with a lovely double aspect across the fairway and lawns but bed rather too hard for our taste. Very clean with all facilities. Spa facilities were adequate but many lockers broken and pool water a little chilly but jacuzzi was lovely. Found reception staff at the spa rather unfriendly and system not explained. On asking for further information, we were made to feel a little second class as we were on a cheaper β€˜leisure’ rather than β€˜spa’ break.

Lacks a lot of communication went for a weekend spa weekend and found it had |Mixed feelings. There wasn't much communication in terms of what to expect and guidance. Found ourselves guessing a lot of the time. The food was really nice but let down by being hot. Breakfast was good but it would of been nice to be told to help ourselves and what was available when entering the dining area. Room spacious and comfortable. Didn't enjoy the indoor swimming pool to relax. Children dive bombing in the water had to go back to roo. To read my book. Probably would consider adults only when paying such a high premium. Cups not available to help yourselves to drinks by swimming area and in the relaxation area. Coffee machine gone which i think was previously a nice added touch? Rather than instant. Lacking a bit of attention to detail.

Great golfing experience. Fantastic grounds and lovely architecture. Pro-shop could slightly improve their advise and tee-times. Overall a great day out! ...Loved the water hazards today πŸ™‚

Our second time visiting Ardencote. We came in Nov 2023 for our friends 40th, and enjoyed it so much that we returned as a treat before Christmas.|Really well organised, lovely staff who are very attentive and helpful. Food at breakfast, lunch and dinner was absolutely beautiful. |My only grumble (hence -1 star) is the treatment - 25 minutes it states. Albeit, the facial was very lovely... I was only in there 15mins. And both my friends had the back massages, and said how shortened their time was. Perhaps this can be looked into? When we asked at the desk the lady mentioned its taken into account going from waiting room to into the room, and stripping to on the bed... which I find unfair... especially when people have paid for a service.

Destination spa was very good and worth visiting for a spa day but it doesn't feel like they know who to pitch to in terms of clientele. Starter and main for dinner was excellent but then the cheese board was terrible - cheap cheese and stale crackers. The breakfast wasn't good, with cheap produce of poor quality. After such a lovely/quality main course for dinner, these things felt like a let down. The dining area didn't feel intimate for dinner as it's the same space you go for breakfast and lunch - bright lights and lacking any ambience. We won't rush to go back.

Went for a massage and was practically mugged! Don't bother taking off your jewellery because you won't see it again.
I came here with my friend in 21/01/25 for a spa day. Loved the facilities, but my day was ruined when my expensive diamond necklace mysteriously went missing.
I was asked to remove it, finished the massage, and left it in the room with the therapist. I was in a rush and stupidly forgot to pick it up at the end. Went back 5 minutes later, and it was gone. No-one but the therapist had been in the room. I turned the lights on and searched everywhere. No necklace!
I've since reported this incident to the police and had to claim on my insurance for the item. When emailing the hotel, they say that they'd searched and nothing.
No offer of any kind of compensation or investigation for my terrible experience, nor have they bothered to chase the matter up.
From a 4* hotel, I expected more. Disappointed is an understatement!

I stayed here with my daughters for a birthday celebration. It is a beautiful location, though the weather wasn't great. There rooms are thoughtfully provided with ironing board, sewing set and a proper hairdryer.

We used the standard spa facilities of jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and pool. The pool was a bit cool for chatting, slow swimming. You had to brace yourself to get in but was fine if you kept moving. The following day we did an upgrade to the destination spa which was definitely worth it.

There are some areas that need a bit of tlc with paint coming off skirting boards, marked floors etc. Just seemed a bit tired.

Food was good. Our package included cream tea (not sure why the cream had to be sweetened) though it wasn't clotted cream. 3 course meal but no say on time so we had to eat much later then we wanted. Staff very pleasant and served us well and quickly. Breakfast was also good. No teas like peppermint, lemon & ginger
