We stayed here for a much needed overnight getaway. It absolutely delivered and so much more. The staff here are very welcoming, accommodating and professional. The hotel and grounds are absolutely stunning, with direct views over Brassenthwaite lake. Welcome drinks on arrival, an absolutely gorgeous suite and relaxing spa facilities, whislt enjoying an adult beverage or two in the outdoor hot tub. The cocktail bar is excellent and dinner was absolutely delicious. This followed by a relaxing night's sleep and a hearty breakfast the next morning. I didn't want our stay to end. Thank you a superb visit!!!

Great location for this lovely hotel in fabulous lake land countryside.The food, service and general ambience was outstanding and there is a truly superb spa where you can (and should!) easily spend an afternoon or morning. It was a joint wedding anniversary for four of us and we had a great welcome and were well looked after. We managed afternoon tea before we left which is worth going for on its own. Thanks to Richard, Fiona and all the team for a great stay. Iotu was excellent in the bar and lounge area.

The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. |The location is stunning which offers so much to suit everyone preferences. Amazing food in fine dining. Stayed the night here and had a spa day after a weekend hiking in the Lake District. The hotel is set in a lovely old hall that over looks the lake. All the staff were friendly and attentive and made us feel most welcome.

The room itself was spacious with a lovely sitting area and work desk. My only complaint was the extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisy and sounded a little broken.

The spa is nice and relaxing and the grounds offer a nice and romantic walk down to the lake. Will definitely be staying again

We went for an afternoon tea for my birthday. The lounge is spectacular with a beautiful view. The service was great and nothing was too much trouble. We needed to move our booking forward on the day and the were very accommodating. As usual, there was more food than can be eaten by two people in one sitting. Although we did box the leftovers to take away, unfortunately, I forgot it in reception! What set this place apart is the warm and friendly, albeit grand atmosphere, and a special touch was a manager coming round to personally greet each party and let them know that we're welcome to stay all day if we want. Makes a change from table bookings that have a strict time limit. The food and drinks were good and impeccably presented by friendly staff. I definitely want to come back here for an overnight stay.

Beautiful setting, lovely food, lovely staff. Bed was very comfy. Disabled |access was good (although a grab rail on the other side of the toilet in the room so you could push up with both arms would have been useful). Was last here over 20 years ago and the Spa has had a significant upgrade in facilities in that time. Had a fabulous facial and my Mum had a full body massage. My Assistance Dog had a fabulous time sniffing for squirrels and rabbits in the grounds and found the dog bed in the room very comfortable.

We stayed for one night, bed, breakfast, and evening meal. We were in one of the more expensive rooms because we took our dog and the garden suites are dog friendly. I emailed before we booked to check the situation regarding the restaurant and the dog, I was assured that we would be able to eat in the conservatory with the dog. We were seated in a separate room off the main restaurant for our dinner, which was fine. However, when we went down for breakfast we were just seated at a coffee table in the hall lounge, we were not offered access to the buffet and trying to eat a cooked breakfast perched on a lounge chair was not my idea of a dig friendly option.

We had the most amazing stay here. We went for my birthday and staff help to make it such a special weekend. The rooms are huge and spotlessly clean. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and the food, as well as the service, were outstanding, definitely the highlight of our trip. Such a special place, amazing location and we will definitely return. Thank you for a great stay.
