We had a wonderful family holiday with friends at Arnbeg Farm Cottage. Ali and Michael were really welcoming and friendly hosts- made us feel instantly at home and went out of their way to ensure all of us had an excellent stay. The boys (aged 18months-8years) loved getting to meet the animals, see the tractors and play on the climbing frame. Great location for visiting local attractions, but could happily spend a day in the house and garden too, enjoying the views and the beautiful rural setting. Couldn’t have asked for more.

What can I say about Arnbeg? It’s the best holiday I have been on. I felt like I was at home and didn’t want yo leave. Ali & Michael are fantastic hosts. You can get involved and hands on with the animals as much or as little as you like. The animals are amazing and the children (and us) loved having the animals all around. The cottage is beautiful and with having two living areas it was ideal for having a child room and a grown up room. It is located perfectly to have solitude but not be too far away from anything to get out and about.

We had the best holiday at Arnbeg, such a stunning location and beautiful views from every window. Ali and Michael were perfect hosts, so friendly and welcoming. The cottage is huge, comfortable, fully equipped and beautifully decorated. The welcome pack was very well received, better than anywhere else we've stayed!
We loved seeing all the animals on the farm and joining Ali and Michael with feeding. They clearly adore the animals and it was so interesting hearing all about them. We were lucky enough to see some gorgeous lambs 😍
The farm is in a great location - we visited Stirling, Callender, Aberfoyle, Falkirk and took the train into Edinburgh for a day.
We hope to visit again and thoroughly recommend the cottage for a fabulous holiday 😊

We had an excellent stay at Arnbeg. Ali and Michael were brilliant hosts, on hand for anything we could need but also left us to crack on as if it was our own home.
We took a 2, 4 and 6yr old away with us and they loved having the animals so close at hand. Meeting the sheep was a wonderful experience for all ages.
The house itself was clean and well stocked with most things needed plus Ali and Michael would’ve provided anything extra, but we didn’t need to ask.
We had loads of lovely days out, both locally and in Glasgow as well as being content just to stay “home” in the beautiful surroundings. The children (and adults) are all desperate to go back!!

If possible I would give Arnbeg Cottage six stars. We stayed in Scotland for the first time and have already booked a return, whilst this is in part to the wonderful places we visited, it is largely down to the warmest of receptions from Ali at Arnbeg Cottage. We arrived after two days of travelling tired and ready to relax in a home from home. Ali met us at the gates, gave us a brief tour of the house and left us to settle in. A welcome pack of the essentials tea, coffee, fresh farm eggs, prosecco etc greeted our arrival as did the three lovely farm dogs Ruby, Daisy and Ivy. The house was beautiful, large bedrooms and high spec bathrooms kitted out in amazing decor some made by Ali's husband Michael. The beds were all comfortable and a more idyllic surround will be hard to find. The view from the kitchen diner was amazing and they were kitted out with everything you would need in a kitchen at home. The animals and the farm around the cottage are yours to be as involved in as you like. Our LG loved going into the fields with Ali, taking miniature horses for a walk and feeding all the animals. As a host you won't find better, one of our guests wanted to stay local one day and being the bank holiday buses were not regular so Ali took him to the local watering Hall and arranged a lift back. Honestly we couldn't have asked for any better, whether it was local knowledge, hospitality or farm fresh eggs. Everything you could need was available or in the house games , books, dvds and a beer fridge! As a person with mobility problems and user of wheelchair and mobility scooter I was pleased there was level access to the front and throughout the ground floor, and that there was plenty of space around the furniture making it easy to get around inside. Our return is booked and we cannot wait. A hidden gem of a place that we will return to many times I am sure.

The most amazing place to stay! The cottage is lovely, great design and comfortable surroundings! Free wifi and the best bed I've ever slept in away from home (and I have a spinal disorder!) Ali the owner is always on hand no matter the problem or even if you need local advice of where to go and what to see. Farm/animal visits available to all residents of the cottage...goats, geese, chickens, sheep, pet pig, cats, dogs (did I miss anyone?!) Clean, tidy and excellent service. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!

After 3 years of dreaming and planning, my friend and I finally made it! At the end of April 2023, we started our week at Arnbeg. It was even better than we’d imagined it would be.

Our hosts, Ali and Michael, were very welcoming and made sure we had plenty of things to do while we were there. Because we ended up traveling without a driver, Ali was especially thoughtful in getting us to and from the local restaurants and the train station. She also took us on a couple of excursions to Luss, Loch Lomond, and the Wallace Monument. On all our trips, we were accompanied by her terriers Ivy and Vera, which we enjoyed.

The modern farmhouse itself was very comfortable, beautifully fitted, and well stocked on our arrival with coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter, biscuits, fruits, and other goodies. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove on the chilly evenings, too!

And the setting? Acres of gently rolling farmland with all the wonderful animals featured on Arnbeg’s Facebook pages. We got to meet and pet Highland coos and a variety of sheep and goats. We got to hold day-old lambs and get hollered at by the geese when they caught sight of us. We met pigs and alpacas and chickens and rheas and Ruby the lab and Ed the cat. I wonder who I’m forgetting?

And each morning we could see the sheep and lambs right outside our windows and hear them baa-ing for their breakfast.

Arnbeg Farmstay is everything you see on its social media pages—and then some. I hope you get there, and I hope to return.
