ArtHouse Cinema and Bar in Crouch End is a gem for film lovers and a fantastic destination for a unique night out. Known for its eclectic selection of independent, foreign, and classic films, ArtHouse provides an experience that’s refreshingly different from mainstream cinemas. The cinema itself has a cozy, intimate vibe with comfortable seating, making it feel like a true community space rather than a commercial venue.

The selection of films is thoughtfully curated, often including Q&A sessions, themed events, and screenings that cater to various tastes, from indie film buffs to families. This variety keeps things interesting and attracts a diverse crowd. The bar area adds to the charm, offering a great selection of drinks, including craft beers and cocktails, as well as snacks and light bites that you can enjoy before or after the movie.

The staff are friendly and clearly passionate about film, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot for an immersive film experience in a relaxed setting. Whether you’re there for a screening or just to enjoy a drink in the artistic ambiance, ArtHouse Cinema and Bar captures the heart of Crouch End's creative spirit.

A fantastic independent cinema, with honest prices for both the films and the bar. We had our cast+screening of a short film here and they were wonderful hosts. Well worth supporting; a great place to spend time and a real community hub.

An amazing place that is fantastic for parties (kids/teens) with its offer of private viewings of a wide range of films at very reasonable rates. The team are wonderful and looked after us so well from the first email to the film morning itself. Tasty popcorn, too. Just really great all around! A big thanks to Chris and everyone at the Arthouse!

The most uncomfortable cinema seat I have had the displeasure to endure. I have cinema memberships with Curzon, BFI, Garden, PC, CI, Cineworld but the seats in screen 2 are barbaric. There is no padding whatsoever. Rock hard wood with no headrest and Ryan Air leg room. To add insult to injury there was a non existent air conditioning in place. But the icing on the cake was a woman who thought it was okay to do her knitting throughout the screening. Constant clicking and clacking throughout the performance with no consideration for those around her. She would have been evicted during a Curzon showing but this performance was not monitored by a member of staff at all. This cinema is an absolute disgrace to cinephiles and should be avoided at all costs. Pass it on. Absolutely dreadful.

Art House Crouch End are AMAZING. They offer free screenings to independent film makers for their shorts under 30 minutes. I hosted a screening there last week and they were so wonderful and made it such a special night. I had two films to show and as it they equated to under 30 mins they let me screen both! They also provide a mic for an intro and Q&A after the film. Such a wonderful bar to hang out in after. Go go go!!!!

I went to Arthouse Crouch End in the morning, planning to get a coffee and do some work. I arrived a bit before opening time (got kicked out from inside) and politely asked if I could sit outside while I waited. The response I got was unnecessarily rude — it wasn’t about what was said, but the tone and attitude. It felt really unwelcoming and as if I was being kicked out for simply asking. Not sure if the person was the owner or just staff, but basic kindness goes a long way. A shame, because the place itself is lovely.

I showed my short film here recently and had such a lovely experience with arthouse! The communication was great coming up to the screening, on the evening they were incredibly attentive and accommodating and everyone who came had a lovely experience with the staff! Truly a gem of a venue and will absolutely be contacting in the future to do it again!
