A lovely B and B on the Coast to Coast. Our rooms were clean and well appointed. There were the most delicious scones waiting for us on arrival and the communal dining area had a huge selection of teas, coffees etc to which you helped yourself.The breakfast choices were excellent and beautifully cooked. Charlotte and family are lovely hosts; friendly and helpful. The evening meal at 'The White Swan' was good, tasty and plentiful.

What a warm welcome with scones and tea! A good B&B close to the local pub that serves food. Thanks Jean for the advise you gave us about spending the next afternoon in Northallerton. We enjoyed our stay at your B&B very much, breakfast was a good start for our next day of out C2C route.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying with Charlotte whilst doing the Coast to Coast Walk. Such a warm, friendly, smiley lady. Greeted with tea and scones sharing many stories accompanied with much laughter. As I wrote in the Visitors' Book, it was like having a one night stop over with a favourite relative. Charlotte creates a lovely friendly atmosphere to wallow in whilst in her presence.

Just as others have reviewed, Charlotte came out of the house to welcome me, after a foul wet day on the C2C. Tea and scones were most welcome. Charlotte kindly made space to dry out all the gear of the drenched walkers staying that day. Great facilities, breakfast and packed lunch. Well done, Charlotte, and thank you

Our hosts Jean and Charlotte were exceptionally nice, going well beyond the scones and beverage by providing drying facilities, wherewithals for cleaning muddy boots and helping us with reheating a takeaway meal purchased the day before. The house was very bright and modern throughout. Our room had a smart TV, an item not always found in guest houses.

We arrived dripping wet after a rain-soaked day on the Coast to Coast walk. Charlotte went out of her way to make us feel welcome, helping us dry our clothes and get comfortable. She and her mother-in-law Jean could not have been more kind, and made us feel like part of the family.

Charlotte and Jean run a great B&B, perfectly tuned to the needs of C2C walkers.

We arrived to be greeted by Charlotte’s tea and homemade scones round the kitchen table. She had booked us into the nearby pub for dinner.

The rooms were all really nicely set up, clean and fresh.

Finally, she cooked us all a lovely breakfast as we sat in the kitchen. Absolutely faultless, and one of the nicest stops on the walk.

We had a lovely one night stay with Charlotte and family at Ashfield House. Charlotte made sure that we went back over to the pub to order our dinner so that it would be ready for us for dinner. She also checked in with us for breakfast and lunch orders. Our room was very comfortable. ||The B and B is so well set up with the area for serving guests separate from the private quarters. Breakfast was delicious with cold items being available early and hot breakfasts a little later. ||The pub is only a few doors away so it was easy to walk for dinner. ||We really appreciated the warmth and kindness of Charlotte and her family and the lovely facilities.
