100% honest review I had an absolutely lovely stay here at Aspen County park, the lodge was so clean and tidy and the hot tub was a real bonus feature.
It was so nice to relax on the decking with the sun setting, the lodges are really well spread out so it felt really nice and peaceful.
The manager was so amazing, she was very welcoming, she gave me all the information about where I could go to get food and including places in the area I could go, service with a smile goes a long way so to have such great hospitality when arriving was so nice!!

I will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend this lovely country park to stay.

This was our second time visiting Aspen Country Park. First time was excellent but second time not so perfect. Good size lodge however, it states in the welcome pack “cleaned to the highest standard” this is certainly not the case - the amount of dust on the bed headboards and dust bunnies under bed everywhere was disappointing and not great for a family with asthma and allergies to dust! The main window sill in the bathroom and decorative ornaments were really dusty too. We thought it probably had not been dusted in along time. This was also the case in living room with fireplace dusty and some of the kitchen units with last residents food stains on cupboards which was a shame. The key utensils in the kitchen we’re difficult to use as main chopping knives blunt and a tin opener that didn’t work! We also came home from a day out to the zoo and we couldn’t get in our front door. We called the Maintenance guy who arrived super quickly but after using a crow bar trying to prise open the door realised the bottom catch on the door was faulty. It made things super difficult as our son is two and a half, has complex needs and asthma and was outside crying with a dirty nappy which had to be changed in the car while the maintenance man had to try and get door open. Eventually he said I need a colleague to look at this in the morning.
His colleague who knocked on the door around 8 am spent a good 20 minutes trying to open the door with a crow bar whilst I was eating my breakfast and my dog as a result kept barking!! not quite the relaxing morning I had in mind). He then wanted to spend time fixing the door! I did politely ask if this could be fixed when we had gone as it was not a 5 minute job he said. So therefore we were unable to use the front door for the remainder of the holiday. One of the maintenance guys mentioned this was a new lock - so this should not of happened. The Extractor fan didn’t work in the single toilet and the blind in the second large bedroom kept falling down every time you open and closed it. It felt like faulty towers at times! This all did he an impact on our holiday unfortunately which we were so much looking forward to as we live such busy and hectic lives. It’s a shame as we do like the place but we won’t be booking to come back next year.

Stayed in Lodge 17 for a week in September 2024.

Lodge was clean, tidy and very spacious. We had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, lodge was immaculately clean when we entered and modern, bathroom was nice and the fridge/freezer was huge! Also the Lodge had dishwasher and washing machine which was really handy, and supplied with tablets to use.

Beds were really comfy, and the setting was so peaceful, Sofas were spacious and really comfy, Hot tub was really hot and didn’t feel like you were overlooked. Tv has a dvd player built in and Freeview.

This place is perfect if you have dogs and is dog friendly, plenty of space to walk your dog on the site grounds and also provide poo bins in the park!

Although the park is located just off the main road you cannot hear the traffic!

Park doesn’t have WiFi but we were aware of this before booking. You are able to get 4G/5G at certain spots on the decking or in the park, but not too much in the lodge, but this didn’t affect our holiday!

10/10 Would definitely book again, nice having secure decking with a gate for your dog.

Tesco / Asda / Aldi just 10 mins down the road for your shopping, and some lovely walks short distance from the park.

Lastly Mar the Park Manager - she is a credit to the site, she was so friendly and helpful. Lovely to chat too! She really went above and beyond and made the experience so special!

Hot tub cleaned daily by Phil- he was always super friendly and lovely to chat to!

We had a wonderful stay here at lodge 17. Our lodge was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Kitchen had all the utensils we needed as well as cutlery, crockery and ovenware.
Beds and sofa were very comfy.

The lodge was quiet despite being near a busy road. Hot tub was nice but we only used this once.

5g was difficult to get and service was poor but this was expected, we did manage to hotspot by hanging our phones by the windows!

The thermostat works really well and rooms can go from hot to cold with a little bit of fiddling around. We figured this out soon enough so were very happy with our toasty lodge.

Tesco superstore is about 5 minute drive away. Car is definitely needed to travel around since nearby is just motorway.

Downside is the check in/out times however Mar, the host, did inform us we could check in early and she let us stay till 10 on check out day.

We would definitely come back and stay for a longer trip.

Beautiful lodge. Lovely location but could do with more signage/info on where you can walk. Main rooms are a really good size but twin room is tiny. Not enough space to put stuff. Kitchen lovely and new. Staff were super helpful.

Stayed in lodge 25 for 4 nights with my cockapoo and partner and son. Lovely lodge, quite big, warm, really good location on the park didn't feel overlooked at all while in the hot tub. Views of the stars at night in the hot tub were beautiful. Very peaceful and saw deer in the morning. Bath was really lovely in the bedroom and large walk in shower. Bathrooms in all 3 bedrooms. Great kitchen amenities, large decking which was safe for my dog. Only thing to criticise and it's maybe because my job in the past was to clean holiday accommodations, and I have OCD, Is the small bathroom window in the ensuite above the bath which unless you're tall, or standing in the bath, it had a couple of dead spiders in the corner and spider poo on the window sill, along with the very small window above the bed. Honestly I had to look hard to find anything to criticise about. Just to add my stay was November so prone to spiders and the blinds were shut when we arrived. But maybe just check in future for that a class cleaning. It wouldn't stop me coming back that's for sure. I have been on alot of hot tub breaks and the hot tub was the biggest one I've been in, cup holders, a lovely lying down seat and lights. We all agreed we would come back and ask for this lodge again. No WiFi on site which we liked but you still get signal. Bury st Edmunds is only a short distance and a lovely place to visit along with visiting high lodge park to walk the dog and keep our son entertained while walking in the woods. Great play areas.

Would highly recommend this site, lovely lodges, great location, relaxing and a brilliant hot tub.
