Amazing hotel, full of history. Rooms so comfortable and clean, staff very helpful. Great choice for breakfast. Ideally located for a short walk into the main areas of town. Really could not have chosen a better hotel.

Stayed for my Wife’s birthday. The room was excellent, I’d arranged for a (rather reasonable) bottle of Pol Roger to be waiting on arrival and we also found complimentary bottle of house red. The hotel is beautifully appointed and very charming. We had an evening meal of steak pie, which was absolutely fantastic and an excellent Sunday lunch, at quite short notice. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Overall, I recommend this hotel very highly.

Fantastic stay, thank you to Alison for your wonderful welcome. we have stayed many times before but we think this time was the best. Wonderful room 3 with 4 poster bed. Fantastic new social media communications profiling what a wonderful location it is. Great free secure car parking. Excellent steak night too! Highly recommended. Had a lovely weekend stay here, the blonde gentleman that was front of house was fantastic, very friendly & professional. Evening meal was AMAZING ! The bar needs to have more of a 0% alcohol free-range. Room in the Crab Hall Annex very standard and basic would benefit from keeping in line with elegance, eg tudor paintings ? A nice bedside lamp? And 4 poster was soooo creaky when you as much moved a toe but overall the staff, food, service and cleanliness balanced it out.

My husband and I went to Ragdale Hall for an evening meal when staying at Whitby. The food was excellent, I had the rump steak and hubby had the steak and ale pie. We where not waiting long for our food and the waiter Jim was very efficient, friendly and polite. The historic surroundings of the dining room where lovely.

If you want quality accomodation in a characterful hotel with great food, centrally located in Whitby, this is the place to be.|My wife and I had a weekend break here and really enjoyed it. It's only a short flat walk to the town centre which we enjoyed. The room was very spacious and warm with all facillities working perfectly.|The hotel (circa 1516) is supposed to have ghosts but I slept like a log!|The staff were very friendly, proffessional and helpful, they deserve every success.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and love it. ||The location is perfect for walking into Whitby and despite it being on a busy road, traffic is not heard. The charm of the historic building is especially impressive in the main building and it is tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Beds are comfortable, showers are hot and powerful, the staff are professional, polite and friendly. The breakfast is appetising and well cooked, plentiful too. ||Overall, I always stay here when in the area as I love it!

All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Especially Christian at the front desk. The dining room decor was very nice, and the food was great. We really like the small bar and friendly atmosphere.||What we didn't like: The bed was very hard, and the bathroom had no place to put anything.
