What an experience - an authentic Russian banya right in the heart of Hoxton! Highly recommend for anyone looking to reset, recharge or just try something totally different.

My highlights:
- Steam room: Blazing and deeply cleansing
- Hats: Iconic
- Plunge pool: Perfect icy shock to the system
- Food: Legit comfort food and reasonably priced
- Kvass: A must try: Sweet, sour, bitter, refreshing
- Vibe: Relaxed, social, everyone was loving it
- Vodka: Iced to perfection
- Effect on my body: Totally purified - like I got reborn in East London

Very professional, friendly and efficient. What a great authentic experience! I have no criticisms. It was great value for money, the treatments were to a high standard and overall a very relaxing and wholesome experience that you won’t get in any ordinary spa. Wonderful experience. My girlfriend and I came from New York to visit London and I’ve wanted to check out a banya for quite a while as my family is Russian but I’ve never had the opportunity yet. She was a bit nervous as she heard many bathhouse horror stories and some shady operations. This place is the absolute opposite of that. Banya No 1 was a very professional and well run business. It was exceptionally clean, with workers guiding you through the experience. They were very nice and helpful with everything. The actual treatments were absolutely amazing. The traditional Russian treatment was awesome. Unorthodox but very relaxing. The massage and scrub was also great. Our massage therapists were both amazing. The sauna itself was exceptional. And the food was also surprisingly great. Make sure to get the Kvass and the dumplings. I highly recommend any person who visits London or lives in London to check this place out. It’s truly an experience I will remember.

Excellent sauna, truly relaxing. The sauna, changing room, showers- everything is clean, tidy, nicely arranged. Really appreciate that they only allow a certain number of people at any given time, so it’s always enough people to feel it’s a social place but at the same time it’s peaceful. The restaurant is very nicely set up as well. Absolutely amazing menu, the fact that they have things like cold pink soup, buckwheat, sea buckthorn tea and many more traditional Eastern European dishes- adds to authenticity! Also lovely staff- friendly, professional, attentive. If you’ve never been, definitely a place to try!

I had a great time with a friend. Great atmosphere, nice women at the entrance, friendly waiters, delicious food. Very interesting new experience in steaming, cheerful guys. I liked the body scrub, which I did for the first time. But everything was ruined by some grumpy girl who was trying to prove something all the time, screaming and running around the room.
