We love Bar Aroma; just knowing we’ll be there lifts our spirits, whether it’s for our morning coffee or a breakfast of excellent proportions and flavour. Everything is delicious with an Italian flair: the coffee, the quality of the desserts, the seasoning of the food, and you can even find Italian products if that’s your thing.
What we enjoy most is the good energy from the staff—they make us feel welcome and at home. They’re the kind of team that motivates you to come back; they remember your name, what you like and what you don’t. It’s clear they do everything with love and passion, and that’s always appreciated when receiving good service.
They’re pet-friendly, organise activities with local artists, and you can also book them for important events like Christmas dinner. There are lovely details all around the place, and there are extra services that are much appreciated, like a place to hang your coat and self-service water. The atmosphere is visually pleasing, with photos and touches of Italy. They sell alcohol too 🙂 after all, it’s a bar, hehe.
We’re so happy to have places like this in Portsmouth.

I have been here twice now and each time the food gets tastier, the service is unbelievable and so friendly, I'm a food snob and don't usually like the way cafes do eggs but these guys are perfect, orange yolk and super runny, I live in southsea so if I'm willing to come out of town for a breaky then you know it's decent. Thanks guys

Suggest you book if you don't want to be disappointed. Lovely staff the atmosphere feels like.your in Italy. Chatting and eating in a nice environment. The coffee tastes good before you take a sip as the smell is delicious. My homemade soup was full of flavour. The pizza was too much for lunch.
A box was supplied I'm sure Janet enjoyed that too.
And a very reasonable price too. Will definitely be trying a Friday or Saturday night.

Lovely little family run eatery, Italian style.
Delicious food and drink served by lovely, friendly staff.
One of the best hot chocolates I have ever tasted.
Certainly not a milky milkshake, very thick ice-cream creation.

Had my birthday here. The Aroma team is always welcoming and friendly and they were so helpful with organising everything. It’s a great venue - just for a coffee too. Thank you Kim and Mike!

Came for early supper before comedy night. Sharing platters were only food on tonight but they were simply delicious lovely balanced selection of meats, cheeses and bread. Drinks had by all were well made a good selection of cocktails. Service was slow though unfortunately. Toilets lovely and clean. Will definitely make a return visit would like to try out during the day to sample the coffee....
Managed to revisit for coffee. Delicious coffee, excellent Italian sweets. Very busy a sign of a great place. Only let down this visit is that dogs seem to be allowed. I am not a lover of dogs in places that serve food, myself and my baby did not enjoy the dog that was yapping at other dogs sat next to us ☹️

I’ve now had Saturday morning brunch here with friends who live locally on a couple of occasions and have enjoyed the coffee brunch and cakes both times. Always bustling and advisable to book
