The most stunning venue. As a wedding photographer I absolutely love Barley Wood as a wedding venue. It has incredible views over the Mendip Hills and is a stunning location to tie the knot. The staff are all really friendly, helpful and the whole venue has a really informal, laid-back atmosphere and is just stunningly beautiful! Highly recommend!!

We got married at Barley Wood in October and had the most wonderful, magical weekend! The views are truly spectacular, and having the entire house meant we could plan everything the way we wanted it, making it more flexible and personal to us. The house is gorgeous and spacious (the bedrooms are enormous!) and the grounds are truly beautiful - we set up a woodland walk with bunting, outdoor games and had the ceremony in the summer house overlooking the walled garden and Mendip hills. Everything ran perfectly, all our guests had a wonderful time and being able to have our pup there too was really special! Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking to get married in the area - this is an amazing venue run by a great team. Thank you Barley Wood!

I was the Humanist celebrant at a wedding at Barley Wood in July. What an incredible venue. The view from where the ceremony takes place is incredible. It was such a joy to share the couple’s story and get them married in such a beautiful place. The ceremony was run with precision and was a wonderful place to to be.

We got married here in June 2018. It was truly magical! The venue is stunning, straight out of a fairytale and the staff do everything to make things go smoothly! It’s such a welcoming friendly place you straight away feel at home. You’re allowed to bring in all your own suppliers so you can truly make the day unique! Everything was perfect on the day and we couldn’t have been happier!

We had our wedding in Barley Wood in May this year (2017) and it was absolutely wonderful!
The staff was SUPER helpful and accommodating from day one (when we visited the venue for the 1st time), throughout all the planning and on the weekend of the wedding.
We went to see the venue for the first time in July and Gary showed us around and explained us how the venue works... we got the venue solely for us, for the whole weekend! ceremony and party in the same location, and 2 whole days to enjoy, options for inside or outside, no corkage and no set providers (we could have whoever we wanted, or even cook ourselves, which we did on day 2 with a BBQ for close friends and family ). All of this in a breathtaking location, wonderful grounds and beautiful and spacious house (which would accommodate our family for the whole weekend).... We decided on it almost instantly as we were so taken with it, and we don't regret it a bit! We had such a good time there, the guests loved it, and our family -who stayed in site with us for the weekend- couldn't be happier! (very important as most of them travelled from overseas to join us)...
If you are looking for a beautiful and versatile venue in the country side, where you can be free to really create your event the way you wanted, I would definitely recommend you have a look at Barley Wood! You won't be disappointed... and once if decide on it, you'll have a lovely, hardworking & helpful team behind you, and a gorgeous venue... If we could, we would do it all over again!

I got married here last month and it was such a magical weekend. The staff here went above and beyond to help and make everything go swimmingly. They also must have sorted out the weather as it was such a nice day! The grounds look absolutely stunning and everyone commented on the ace venue. Having some rooms on site was lovely and really felt at home for the weekend. I ant to do it all over again. Thanks again xx

Stunning venue!!!! I was lucky enough to document Emily and Ben's special day here last year. The house is gorgeous and the grounds even nicer!! Be sure to get some garden games set up on the lawn. A ceremony outside is a must too. So romantic and specacular for us photographers. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
