Here is an example of a man for whom confidence has slipped into extreme arrogance and who makes Basil Fawlty seem nice in comparison.
I know the beautiful location and the building being local but would never wish to stay there having recently watched a Four in a Bed re-run in which they appeared.
What on earth, one wonders, are this ghastly pair doing in hospitality atall when they both seem to be throwbacks from a former era (in South Africa) where it was perhaps normal to insult someone sitting opposite you at the dinner table and to routinely behave abominably to others.
I imagine only new 'customers' stay because I doubt anyone experiencing their extreme rudeness would ever wish to return.
These folk are enough to make a local feel ashamed........

The two that own this place are awful. You open your tired, little castle ?/ lodge to the plebs (although not as tired as the old Rolls Royce ) and then look down your supercilious noses at the guests that pay you £200 a night . Class is something that transcends a posh accent or how much money you have in your pocket and unfortunately the pair of you have no class whatsoever .

The owners are horrible people. They have no interest in customer care. Arrogant, faux-pretentious poor excuses for hoteliers. I hope people don’t waste their time and money staying here.

Having inadvertently watched the 4 in a Bed programme on which the owners of this B and B featured, I was completely appalled by the attitude of the owners, condescending, supercilious and rude with a complete disregard [ or perhaps sheer ignorance] of good manners in every sense. When featured the rooms looked both gaudy and pretentious, which I would have expected. There is no question that I would avoid staying at Bath Lodge Castle at any cost.

We had an absolutely lovely stay here. The staff were extremely polite and friendly and the castle, rooms and location were beautiful. Breakfast was very tasty and although there was only a couple of members of staff they attended to everyone efficiently and kept everyone happy - hats off to the two girls whose names I sadly forgot to get. Don't forget to use the free hot tub at the bottom of the garden! Would love to stay here again and will definitely consider it for our wedding!

Excellent service, staff have been excellent. Rooms are nice, if sometimes a little eccentric - quite heavy on the castle theme, but my daughter loved that. Decor on the corridors a little too rustic for me. Beds are very comfortable slept very well.

Beautiful castle. The staff were very friendly and couldn't fault much with the place. The bed was quite hard. Not as comfortable as I'd like but I suppose it's up to to personal taste. Not too far from bath either need to drive or get a cab. You cannot walk to bath or anywhere else really as it on a main road. Beautiful setting and scenery. Really cannot fault the look and feel of the castle and it's surrounding. Bath is a brilliant little city. Loved staying there would definitely return.
