We recently held our fundraising event at Baylis House, and we cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From start to finish, the management team were incredibly accommodating, respectful, and genuinely caring. Their support played a key role in helping us deliver a smooth and successful evening.

The hall was spotless, beautifully arranged, and all of our setup requests were met promptly and professionally. The team went above and beyond to ensure everything was in place exactly as we had envisioned.

The food was outstanding, receiving high praise from all our guests. Every detail was handled with care, and the atmosphere created was both welcoming and elegant.

Our guests had an amazing time, and we are so grateful to Baylis House for their support and service. We would not hesitate to use this venue again and highly recommend it for events both big and small.

I recently held my Jaggo and pre wedding party at Baylis House and I had the most fantastic event. The staff were incredible and the manager Mr Paul was fantastic in supporting us have an amazing event. I couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out, how they decorated it and the quality of the food. Highly recommend them for any event!

Don’t stay at this place, we had booked online for our rooms and then had to pay on arrival. We all got asked for our IDs straight away, which this was never mentioned. We also got questioned on if we had 2 girls staying in 1 room or 2 men staying in 1 room.

Upon getting to the room what we found was disgusting by any means, the bin had all black stuff, chewing gums and rubbish left in it. One of our rooms the bedsheet had a shoe footprint on it, the bathrooms were filthy. Bed sheets stained with pubic hair on them. Toilet stinking dirty, walls and skirting boards full of tea stains…not to mention the BROKEN beds. We wanted 2 double rooms and we got a room with 2 single beds pushed together (which were broken).

We then got moved to another room which was exactly the same, there’s even dirty tea marks on the window sill. We can’t open a window as there’s a huge wasps nest outside of it. Most terrible part, my partner got into bed where he was to find 2 construction nails was under his mattress, this is an absolute hazard!!

The whole experience is a disaster from start to finish, even the corridors are filthy. I have informed the receptionist that new cleaners are needed here.

Absolutely devastated as on the outside the place looks amazing. The service and the cleanliness of this hotel is disgusting, I wouldn’t even eat here let alone stay in the dirty place.

The manger is never available I had a email to say she would contact me and nothing. Yet the hotel is ignoring every single call I make. No manager to superior on site to report anything to, I have never experienced anything like this, I will be trying to get the media to cover this place because it’s foul.

I am editing this post due to reading your reply, I have tried for the past 4 hours to contact your hotel. I am giving you 48 hours to contact me regarding this issue before I escalate this complaint to higher authorities eg, trading standards and environmental health.

I didn’t realise places like this exist. This was quite simply terrible. Firstly I do not understand why the receptionist asked for ID, as we had to pay for the room before we got in. She was grumpy so I knew this was not going to be a great experience by this point. ||The slightly larger than single room was so horrible. The bedsheets were like sandpaper. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. There were tv wires hanging out of the wall. The bathroom tiles needed regrouting. My nephew next door had to use our shower as his was not working. My sister and I were given small hand towels only on arrival. Everything was just dirty. No bedside tables (as no room). My cousins door would not lock. The only 2 redeeming features was that it had aircon and parking. Don’t stay here, it truly is an awful place. You know a place is bad when they don’t reply to reviews on here. It makes the travel lodge (which I like) look like a 5 star hotel. Never again.

A magnificent setting for a lovely welcoming hotel and the staff were the utmost in politeness. A warm aroma of Pakistani and Arabian fare coloured the garden restaurant area and a cool||lassi was also welcome os the day was the start of summer. I can only imagine the festivities at all the grand banquets held here - plenty of parking and the bathroom had amazing water pressure! My room was clean and quiet with no footfall because it was the end of the corridor - brilliant.

Do not waste your time coming here! It’s absolutely disgusting. Bed sheets with foot prints on them and hairs in our beds, the bin was full of rubbish, stated there was AC but didn’t have any, couldn’t open the window due to having a wasp nest in the wall!

Bathroom was rusted, mouldy and dirty.
We upgraded to a double bed and were given 2 pushes together broken beds, one had a nail sticking out of it!
Reception was absolutely useless we were told there’s no one in charge to speak to?!

Will never recommend this place to anyone!

It's a cheap hotel - you kind of get what you pay for, however, in my room alone:

Heating in the bathroom stuck on full blast
Fan in the bathroom running (noisily) all night
No bathmat or non-slip coated for the bath
Edging missing on flooring
High gloss vinyl flooring that was slippery
Shaver socket hanging off the wall

The whole hotel just felt like it needed a refurbishment.

The on site restaurant was a buffet, which was good at £20 a head, but couldn't take cards and needed a bank transfer.

I wouldn't recommend as anything more than literally somewhere to sleep - although the bed was surprisingly comfy.

My partner and I spent 2 nights here and the service was appalling. We arrived, after booking a double room with (as advertised) a TV, shower, WiFi etc. The first thing we noticed was the stench of marijuana suffocating the room. We turned on the TV only to find it had been smashed in and was unusable. My husband brought up the complaint and kindly asked if we can be moved, the lady at the front desk refused us and basically made it out that it “wasn't like that when the cleaners came in earlier that day”, I quote. As if to insinuate we had done something to it. After a back and forth with her, we needed to book another night and she promptly suggested we will have a better room/refund in the morning. We woke up the next day and my partner sorted to pay for another room, mentioning the problems again and asking to move as the problem still occurred. They tried to charge us full price and after much frustration, they finally agreed to deduct only £6 from the original price to stay in the same room. Absolutely outrageous service and the lady did not help us in the situation at all. I’m hugely disappointed and I’m shocked to see the lack of customer service skills from the staff.
