Not far from the A1, Gateshead. In beautiful countryside and a very short car journey to Beamish museum. On a nice day you could walk to the museum, depending on your mobility.|Classic room adequate, with plenty of space for two. Very well appointed. Easy to adjust the heat (very welcome on the coldest night recently) |Evening meal and breakfast both delicious with great service. Nice to sit in the lounge area after dinner. finishing off our wine in the company of other guests.|Loads of parking available.|All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. ||

A place which is very special to our hearts! We got married here and the whole experience was second to none! Our wedding coordinator, Lauren, was everything and more! The venue was absolutely beautiful, the service from all the staff was second to none, the rooms were luxury to a new level and the food was divine! Even the lady on reception was fabulous. We went back weeks after the wedding and she remembered exactly who we were, our names and about our day. We can't wait to go back for our first anniversary to celebrate! Lovely stay just before xmas. The Xmas lunch was delicious and well presented and lots of it. We have been coming for quite a few years now and are never dissapointed. |They are now part of the Best Western group, so not privately owned anymore, which they always advertised. Hope this doesn't effect how they have always ran.|Our stay reflected that, clean rooms, friendly staff and will, as usual, be returning.

Two day stay in a standard double room with meals, very large building with large empty rooms set up primary for weddings only one area available for socialising which is a separate building the breakfast and restaurant area, the seating area around the bar area was comfy and staff generally good.
Very small bedroom and quite basic with limited room for clothes,no wardrobe as no room just a few coathangers and small desk and chair, perfectly functional but not worth the price at something advertised as luxury stay

Me and my boyfriend stayed here on the date night offer in which you get £35pp deal for your dinner and upon checking in, reception take card details and said that the rest of everything would be added on tab and paid when we check out. We went for dinner and had our drinks and 2 cocktails afterwards and the bar staff told us they would add it to our room tab. However, the next morning we had our breakfast and the same waitress served us, a blonde thin older looking lady and was pleasant. This sharp changed as when we were making our way out back to the room (in front of all the other people eating our breakfast) she yells after us ‘Excuse me, you didnt pay for your drinks yesterday’ which caused half the room to turn around! I have never felt so embarrassed and insulted in my life. Very unprofessional and accusatory tone… could have easily took us to the till and been discreet rather than being aggressive towards me and my boyfriend. I then explained what the reception had told us about paying when we check out in which she still kept up her condescending miserable attitude up… ‘ah yeah everything thinks that… the reception says that to every guest’ implying we should have known that. So I paid my bill in front of the restaurant guests in which people were still looking at us. Heres some thought, if she said everyone gets confused as we did, have a clearer explanation when you check in. Or after our dinner she could have come to our table and asked for us to pay then. Feels like we were set up. Never going back to dine thats for sure.

We had a very leisurely day walking around beamish museum before checking in to the hotel. We then had a lovely meal in their restaurant with drinks. The hall itself is fabulous with lovely grounds. Very relaxing day and night away. Would recommend.

Visited here for a birthday treat with my husband. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They were very polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even calling us a taxi when we needed it. The room was tidy and very clean. Food was excellent and the waiting staff were lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go again.

This is a lovely country estate type hotel situated very close to Beamish Museum we booked a standard double room which I have to say was on the small side it was clean and tidy. The staff are welcoming and helpful there is a bar restaurant out the back (The Stables) which while a lovely place to be has somewhat of a limited menu.
