Excellent hotel with great facilities. The outdoor heated swimming pool was still open in October! Wonderful location for exploring Bath and surrounding areas. We were allocated the Master Bedroom by Elaine (thank you so much xxx) which had a four poster bed and very spacious bathroom. Excellent service throughout our stay and a big thank you to Elaine for looking after us so well. Would highly recommend.

Stayed one night for our wedding anniversary. A stunningly beautiful hotel perfectly located in the Wiltshire countryside within easy reach of a number of great places for day trips. ||The grounds are wonderful, including the pool area. Both dinner and breakfast were very good, but the staff were the clincher. Couldn’t be more friendly or accommodating, including recommending a visit to Lacock and a good place to get lunch. ||Will definitely be looking to stay again.

We went for Sunday lunch at the carvery. The building was beautiful, the dining room was lovely and the staff was mostly excellent.

I ordered a St Emilliion with the meal, and the waiter brought a different wine. He exchanged it without complaint but it was indicative that the waitress was not attentive.

Sadly the Yorkshire Puddings were like old crispy cardboard, there was almost no gravy and the roast potatoes were tough, but not crispy. Virtually every guest left their Yorkshire puddings, and we heard several people ask for more gravy. The pork was good, the roast beef fatty and the chicken dry and overcooked. Again, gravy would have helped…

My daughter asked if she could substitute Clotted Cream Ice Cream for Sorbet on her crumble as she has a level of lactose intolerance, and was completely ignored. No apology or explanation, just a dish with Clotted cream Ice Cream right on top.

Silly but stupid lack of attention to detail made this a disappointment instead of a great Sunday Lunch. Service Charge was automatically included which is an insult when the service was so poor.

Visited the restaurant for lunch at the end of September and were treated to an amazing meal. We booked under a Travelzoo offer and thought this might reflect in the standard/quantity of food on offer but am happy to say this wasn't the case at all! Everything was presented beautifully and was so good to eat. Our offer was for three courses but we did struggle to finish everything on our plates! The staff at Beechfield House are very attentive (without being too much so) and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant area was immaculate and the furnishings and decor are everything you would expect from a high quality country house hotel. Will definitely be returning soon.

Please carefully check your bill! I booked my stay for 2 adults and 1 child through Secret Escapes, as I have a 14-year-old and a 10-year-old, which required booking for 2 adults and 1 child. However, when booking through Secret Escapes, it incorrectly listed the reservation as 1 adult and 1 child, advising me to call the hotel directly to request additional bedding. The hotel assured me this was fine and added the extra bedding to the room.

Upon checkout, however, they attempted to charge me an additional £85 for the second child, despite the fact that I had already paid £350.56 for two nights for 1 adult and 2 children. My booking confirmation clearly stated that each person would receive £35 for food and cream tea. After disputing the charge, they deducted £35 from my bill which should not have been charged in the first place. I was still overcharged by £50.00!

I would like to add that the rooms and the food were very good, and Elaine at reception was lovely. However, my experience with Secret Escapes and Beechfield House was far from easy or convenient. The hidden charges and misinformation left me very disappointed. The hotel staff should not have said "yes that is fine, good ahead with the booking" If they we're going to charge me an additional £85.00. Having to argue my case at checkout turned what should have been a lovely stay into a frustrating one. It's not how anyone wants to end a vacation. I advise people to check their bill at checkout.

We enjoyed an excellent stay recently, in a delightful, atmospheric and comfortable room, with extensive views across the countryside. Beautiful house with outdoor pool and an enjoyable dinner. We look forward to returning. The staff were attentive and friendly, making the stay even better.

Just returned from a lovely two night stay at the Beechfield House. Fantastic house with beautiful gardens. We received a very warm and friendly welcome on arrival and stayed in Pear on the second floor overlooking the pool. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed. Good quality thick towels and robes. Shower was over the bath so can be a bit tricky for some people and we could have done with additional storage for our toiletries etc. We had dinner both nights in the private dining room with our friends which was very relaxing and we didn't need to worry about disturbing other guests! We could not fault the service at dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately at check out, however, there was a mix up with our bill which did take a while to sort out. It may be prudent to sign for drinks/wine ordered at the bar to avoid items being allocated to the wrong room and there is a service charge added to everything.
