We stayed here recently as 2 couples booking on the special Sheperd Neame offer. Our room was lovely and big with an extremely comfortable large king sized bed. It had a coffee machine and lots of pods to choose from,a selection of teas and biscuits to have with them. They gave us a flask of milk at the reception which was a lovely touch and so much better than uht milk. It had a decent iron and ironing board which can be so hard to find in a hotel. We had booked a 2 course evening meal and breakfast as part of our deal and neither disappointed. There was a slight mix up with our evening reservation however this was sorted very quickly and the service we received all night was exceptional. I am going to mention Summer who was our waitress who was fantastic and a real credit to the hotel. The food was excellent as well. The breakfast was equally as good and again the service was great. Overall we had a lovely stay and would wholly recommend the hotel.

I have lived in Sandwich for several months and have never considered The Bell for some reason for a Sunday lunch. I have only ever previously used for after school dinner (and very good at that.)

I booked for Mother’s Day and I have to say, well done to the team it was fabulous! The roast was top notch and the service was the best I have had for years. Very accommodating to our requests and even admired the dog. We had roast beef, roast chicken, fish and chips and a burger and all were really good quality.

Thank you to all the team for not only making Mother’s Day nice but also making it tasty!!

A disappointing hotel.|The rooms and corridors were very tired , dirty and worn.|The shower and heating in our room didn’t work properly. And the shower cubicle had black mould and crumbling grout. To be fair they ponded well and moved us to a new room which was at least warm and with hot shower but no better maintained (towel rail radiator never got hot)|The hotel is in a superb location and breakfast was very nice. Staff were friendly and responded well to complaints which is why they get 3stars|Possibly other rooms are better maintained? |Unlikely to go back if I’m in the area

Booked through secret escapes for my 65th but would be worth the full price. Room has the extras that some hotels stopped. Dressing gowns , iron, toiletries including toothbrush and tooth paste. Good choice tea and coffee. Lovely bed and god pillows. Dinner not fancy but well presented and very tasty and good choice. Had the English breakfast only one item missing black pudding(lots will disagree).Staff very pleasant just need a sign by the upper till saying please check in at the bar as we stood around for a while. Staff made us feel special and nothing was too much trouble even when we ordered a wine sweeter than we expected they offered to change it ,excellent (didn’t change it e declined not their fault) |Afternoon tea have experienced several only my husbands second. Again excellent service and food will recommend to all my work colleagues. Thank you to the Bell. |Any changes to improve might be fridge in room very popular. Lock on bedroom door on inside

Stopped by for lunch at 13:15 on Saturday. Ordered drinks and was then informed they would not be taking food orders until 14:30. Not sure if they had a large party on or were trying to sober the chef up! Just seemed a little strange that they couldn’t cope.

Hotel is really well situated, there is a path through the alleyways that gets you nearly in the centre of town, and its right by the River Runner runner boat trips if you fancy a visit to the nature reserve to see the seals. Its a building full of character, and the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. There is parking out the front but only for 5-6 cars, although the hotel gets a reduced rate for the quayside Ringo car park nearby. We thought the breakfast was really nice, with a good range of menu choices, and waiter service. Room was comfortable with TV, large bed, a decent coffee machine and lots of coffee/tea choices. Fresh milk and water was supplied. Bathroom was clean although unfortunately the tiling was cracked through bath settlement.

We had an enjoyable overnight stay at this hotel. Our room was very comfortable with a view over the river. Breakfast was very good, all cooked to order and a good choice. Would certainly recommend this hotel and will certainly come back and stay again.
