The hotel rooms were fairly basic and the one I was given was really hot and stuffy when I arrived in the evening as the sun was just setting.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating and gave me a fan, and also found a secure place to store my bicycle overnight.

Thin walls though, could hear a loud TV next door later that night, so I had to put earplugs in and switch beds to be away from the wall. Just a note if you’re looking for a quiet, restful night, it may not always be possible, depending on how busy it is.

But for £45 it was great value and the service was amazing.

Very happy with my stay at Ben Mhor Hotel. Biggest pull for me was the affordability, but I was also impressed by its location, later checkout (11am), cheap and varied food menu downstairs, and clear communication prior to my stay. Room was basic and not the highest standard ever but that was to be expected, and most importantly it was very clean. I also love that it is dog friendly! Will definitely be returning!

When trying to book a table for a meal there was constantly no answer, so ended up booking via email.|Turned up, no one at restaurant, all closed. Waited at reception, no one came. Went to the bar where I was met by rude locals who voiced they were not moving to let me in, bar tender didn't intervene. I informed I had booked for dinner, "did you, when did you book?" then he looked in a book and said there's nothing there. "just sit in here (bar area) through there is cold and dingy". I ordered two drinks and went to a table. Waited for a while before returning to bar, where same said rude locals would not move to let me in, I asked how we ordered food ( I thought someone would come and take our order) tender stated "you order it here". I duely ordered our food after several items were unavailable - the female bar tender did apologise. I was then instructed to collect my cutlery and condiments. The sauces were dirty, happy shopper with very little in them.|After waiting our starters arrived, 5 very small balls - macaroni bites/haggis balls. Dry and clearly microwaved, no garnish at all.|Our mains arrived, steak pie and chips, very small portion, dry blank and the pie was definitely microwaved too.Thai red vegetable curry with sweet potato, again microwaved.|Both dishes were tasteless.|Went to order another drink after dinner from the bar, waited, locals again were rude and arguing and at one point very heated.|Waited for a considerable time in queue before leaving the premises.|Very disappointed as we had checked menu and reviews before going.|Male bar tender had no customer service skills at all.|Some foreign tourist were in dining, felt terrible for them as their foods looked equally as bad, not the standard you would expect, with poor customer service in Scotland.|Very unwelcoming environment indeed.

Lovely one night stay. The room was very affordable, clean and spacious enough for 2 adults and 2 dogs. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The pub stays open until late and the food and drinks were exactly what we needed after a long drive. Breakfast was a bit slow in service but worth the wait. It is conveniently located in the middle of the Highlands and provides an excellent and accessible stop. Lots of parking spots in the street after 10pm.
Will be coming back here on our next visit!

Excellent is the word, to say the least.👌
Great hospitality, situated in a nice location with accessibility to the local amenities.

Rooms are spacious and clean, and with ensuite.

I visited with my family, including a newborn, and they helped with everything that they could, travel cott, portable heater, etc.

Comes with a parking place at the back of the hotel.

The per night tariff is great for value. Breakfast and dinner are not inclusive, but you can always opt for it during your stay with a standard price.

Bar and common room to socialise is a great add-on.

Highly recommend staying in Ben Mhor Hotel if you are planning to explore Garntown-on-spey or Aviemore.

Thanks

Could not have stayed at a better place. The staff were friendly and made you feel as though you were part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always happy and welcoming. Food was delicious and everything was value for money. If I could award more than 5 stars I would. This is the only place we will ever stay in whilst in Grantown -on-- Spey. Cannot praise them too highly.
Have already booked again to stay at Hogmanay later this year. Thanks to all at Ben Mhor

Booked for a family river trip. Extremely underwhelming. Food was still frozen. Which . Give them there due they rectified at no extra cost. But the rooms however are extremely dated and un clean. Contact with the hotel was extremely problematic. I have sympathy with Highland hotels and the hospitality industry in general in the Highlands however some standards still need to be kept.
