What a wonderful find! Had overlooked Beryl House as I had searched Wells for hotels but so glad my wife was more thorough. An amazing place in a great location in magnificent gardens with views to the Cathedral. A lovely warm welcome with the friendly service continuing throughout our stay. The bedroom was gorgeous and the choice of rooms to relax in was lovely together with the availability of afternoon cake and honesty box drinks. Such an amazing experience we can’t wait to come back!! Oh yes, and how can I forget the breakfast with the added benefit of local knowledge for our day’s activities. Would highly recommend to all.

What an amazing hotel, run by an extraordinary family and set within the most stunning grounds. Immaculate, luxurious, very comfortable, with beautifully manicured gardens within a short walk of Wells, and enjoying views across to the cathedral and Tor. Breakfast was delicious and the service was friendly throughout. Can't recommend Beryl enough. The rooms were amazing with super comfortable beds and were extremely well appointed. Afternoon tea was a treat, and some time by the pool adds to what was a perfect stay! Thank you. We'll be back.

We were recommended Beryl House by friends and booked to stay for my birthday. We were met by Holly who was charming and invited us to enjoy tea with a slice of delicious homemade cake, which we took in the beautiful garden. The outdoor pool was an added bonus and our afternoon swim was very welcome. Our room (Master) was spacious and beautiful and the breakfast the following morning was perfect. Wonderful hosts. We highly recommend a stay at Beryl.

Holly, Mary-Ellen & Matthew are the perfect hosts. Our suite was very comfortable for our three day visit. The breakfasts was one of the best we have had in any hotel and we travel a lot. The gardens are stunning and the pool area with comfortable sunbeds were great after all the walking around Wells. I would highly recommend this gorgeous Country House Hotel.

This is a remarkable manor/resort that exceeded expectations at every level. I would give it as many stars as stars there are available. First, the hospitality of the family that you meet is remarkable in this day and age. You are pampered without being imposed upon, and you sense that these are people that care for you and your experience and they are interesting to boot. The house and grounds are magnificent, with excellent walking and running in the immediate area. Our room, Butterfly, was to die for. And unlike so many older estates, everything here is updated and perfectly functioning. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. And they serve a marvelous breakfast that will get you thru till dinner. If you are in the area and can get a room, do so, you will not be disappointed.

This was our second visit, for a short getaway visiting family locally. The house itself harks back to a more genteel era, with silver tea spoons, complimentary tea and home made cake every day, all served with consummate style and panache. The bedrooms are all well appointed, and furnished in late Georgian-Victorian period style, right down to the last subtlest of details. The welcome is warm, literally - fire burning in hallway hearth, and metaphorically - thanks to "tea cup" the family dog, Holly and family. The choice of breakfast is broad, and I would recommend the kippers, and eggs florentine (the bacon and sausages are also very good and sourced locally). Overall, a great deal of effort is put into the entire enterprise, making it a wonderful experience. We will, of course, be back again.

Charming service in a delightful setting. Breakfast was superb and made us feel like one of the family. Stayed for three nights. Master suite has views out over the gardens to Wells Cathedral and a 4 poster bed. Very enjoyable taste of old fashioned service and attention to detail. The complete antithesis to modern hotel chains.

Beryl’s is quite simply one of the best hotels we have stayed in the UK! Holly and her family were the most gracious and warm hosts welcoming us as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. Upgraded to the Master Room (thank you), it was simply amazing with the most wonderful four poster bed and a view to die for! Breakfast was a real treat with local produce used and as fresh as you like! Fascinated by the history of the House and the antiques within it, it was simply awe inspiring and we will be back, again and again!!! Loved it, Bill and Maureen ❤️
