Stayed for 2 nights over easter weekend. Was made very welcome at reception by the lovely Allison who had organised the room for me before arriving. Bedroom in the superior side of hotel with lift was spotless, and even although it was on the small side had everything you need. It was very warm in the room but you can adjust the huge radiator. Lovely views over the garden. Ate in the hotel both nights, food was delicious. Again the staff in restaurant and bar very nice, polite and helpful. Free entertainment from the locals singing in bar on the Friday livened the place up until someone complained. Breakfast the first morning was better than on easter sunday but the restaurant was very busy so that might have been the issue. Leisure facilities were good and not too busy on the Friday. Oh and the cocktails were lovely! Would stay again.

Balgeddie House Hotel, Glenrothes
I can’t praise this place enough. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth at reception. The staff went above and beyond—even giving us fantastic advice about using the park and ride for Edinburgh, which turned out to be an excellent tip!
The food in the evening was delicious, and breakfast on both mornings was just as impressive—high-quality, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, featuring an enormous, incredibly comfy bed that made for a great night’s sleep.
Thank you to everyone at Balgedie House for a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely be back

Visited for Afternoon tea. The hotel was very quiet but we were made to feel very welcome and the service was good. Very clean inside and lovely view across the gardens. |Good range of sandwiches, cakes, scones & meringues. Choice of teas/ coffees |Great value for money.

Just home from a nights stay in the Balgeddie House Hotel and have to say that this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who made us feel so warm and welcome and got us checked in and from there on the staff were the best we have ever encountered at anywhere we have stayed before , from the bar staff, and the waitresses, they served with a smile and nothing was too much for them.
The room, however was a bit dated and found it bit chilly as there was no heating controls in the room.
Very comfortable and warm bed and we did have a great night's sleep.
The shower was fantastic, nice and warm that you didn't want to get out it.
We both had a great 3 course meal in the hotel restaurant and the food was absolutely outstanding and the portion sizes were great also, so even if not staying here I'd recommend even just coming for a meal.
I did mention to the waitresses that there were so many nice things on the menu also.
Used swimming pool which was very quiet, nice temperature of water to swim in and then time to chill in steam room.
Also found the Balgeddie House Hotel to be absolutely spotless clean inside and even outside in the gardens.
Again on checking out, a different receptionist this time but equally as friendly as the first one .
My wife says in the car, the staff alone should get a rating of 20 out of 10 for being that nice, warm and friendly.
Would definitely return again and thanks for a nice stay.

Having stayed here a couple of years ago, we thought we immediately knew where to stay when in the area again. However, things have changed, and not for better. General service in the bar and Bistro area are totally uncoordinated, and in general, the staff seem to have a complete lack of awareness of what drinks and food they or don't have availability of.
This evening we ordered food, and nearest appropriate wine (house wine, we werent offered a wine menu), only to be told once the wine had been served that our choice of food was no longer available (sold out). We waited patiently (to long) to reorder a meal that was able to be served. Wishing to order an alternative wine (suitable for our new choice of food), we eventually managed to attract attention to ask if there was a wine menu; yes sir, and shortly turned up. After waiting far too long to order a bottle of wine, we went to the bar, only to be ignored and three other people who turned up afterwards get served, so we again gave up.
I'm now a tad irritated, and eventually flag down a waiter eventually we managed to order a bottle of suitable wine, however after two further table visits (he forgot which one we ordered) we discover that he cant guarantee anything other than house wines, due to a change of wine list currently being implemented.
We abandon the idea of a bottle of wine, and finish our meal, deciding on a Digestif in the bar. Once again, one drink got served, the other (cocktail) awaiting to be delivered. Eventually, after my chasing (my face must have had a look of thunder), it turned up.
Basically, few, if any of the staff have little to no awareness of what is or isn't available, and certainly don't have any idea at all who has been at the bar patiently waiting to be served, as opposed to someone who has just rocked up.
Three night stay, but it will be our last. We'll find somewhere else for future visits.
The bar/restaurant manager should have a badge labelled "vacant", as without being impolite, that's all he was good for. I can't help but wonder if he is the main reason for the complete lack of competence in the bar/restaurant.

An amazing hotel with beautiful gardens, lovely pool and health suite and amazing food. The staff really to make this hotel special and were all super friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend for a stay as a couple or family as it really has everything you need for a relaxing break.

Everyone so personable & welcoming- nothing to much trouble. Room (suite) 201 was palatial. Great facilities - gym & pool clean & functional - an excellent end to a day’s hiking. Restaurant menu was reasonably priced, decent quality & varied albeit dishes lacked a little finesse in presentation. A hotel to suit everyone & great value for money - will return.

Stayed one night for work. The hotel has plenty of character but could do with some investment. I was somewhat underwhelmed by the food both at breakfast and dinner. Room was in the attic and looks like had been split into two so you could hear everything from the next room's bathroom. Bed comfortable and good parking outside.
