We stayed in the car park using it as a campervan stop over. We were welcomed just like any other hotel customer and service in the restaurant was great. Good amount of veggie options on the menu, nut roast was very tasty! And great to see a variety of veggie options on the kids menu too! Lovely little play park and space for a stroll. Did not see any of the actual hotel rooms as stayed in our van, but toilets were clean.

We went to Best Western Compass Inn, on Father's Day for a meal, they were offering a free main course meal for the Dad's. Our party, 2 dad's & 7 all together.|We booked for 1.00 pm.|We were in the Orangey room, a pleasant extension, a glass roof, grapes growing around the roof area. The sun was shining thru' the roof, a pleasant expectation of a nice meal ? |Well, there is a BUT, we didn't get any food until about 3.30 pm !|We did remind the staff several times, but no response, until my Son in Law contacted the manager. She was very pleasant, & explained that they had misplaced our order but was now getting on with the order.|At this point I mentioned that there was a slight water drip from the grapes above. I asked for an umbrella, but I was only kidding, it added to the ambiance of the room.|The starters were pleasant, BUT the main meals were awful, it looked like that they were cooked several hours before, then heated up.|They did reduce the cost of the meal, but even tho' the setting was pleasant, the extreme wait & the terrible meal, spoilt our Father's Day.|We have no expectation of going again, it's a pity. |I hope they get their act together ?

The rooms here are so comfortable and the food is very good. We usually stop on the way to Hungerford so have now stayed 3 times and we have not been let down once. It’s in lovely quiet surroundings and very pretty. Would definitely recommend staying there. The only thing this time was along the corridor outside my daughters room there was a smell of drains, we have never had this before but obviously needs looking into in case a drain blockage somewhere.

The staff were friendly enough. The hotel, as others have said, could do with upgrading. I dont underestimate that running such a building is expensive but there's some basics that should be attended to, such as cleanliness. There was signs of mold in our room and the fridge was dirty. (See pics). The bedding and towels were clean. The bed was comfortable.

Feels a bit like stepping back in time. The rooms could do with some tlc and are a tad outdated.
Trying to find the entrance late at night in the dark and we're initially confused by the lack of access / entry to the hotel via the sizable car park. Turns out you have to walk around the building via the road to discover the way in.
Breakfast was a combination of continental and cooked, both of which were perfectly adequate but probably not worth the money.
It's located close the the motorway so you can at least make a quick escape.

Ideal for the Cotswold Way being a 5 minute walk up the road. Great service from a cheerful, helpful receptionist through to the waitress and young bar staff. Couldn't fault the rooms or food. Would give 6 stars if it had a drying room or area, which would be ideal for anyone on the Cotswold way.

Arrived to find a Wedding party booked. Unable to locate Hotel Reception desk. This impacted on our stay so advise to check if you are staying on a Saturday. Asked what time breakfast would be told 8-10am on Sun. Hotel card stated same. Arrived 0830 Sun and told 0900 and sharply to come back. Notices were up but assumed all for wedding party. Breakfast self serve buffet.||Staff very young, lacked front of house skills. On leaving walking up to check out one shouted "Sh*t!!" loudly. If you choose to stay here there's much improvement needed to be regarded as a Hotel and not as a dated pub.

A lovely Pub Lunch I just had in Tormarton, the most Delicious Chicken Salad I had in Year's, plus a glass of Cider on the side of course 🍺 definitely worth visiting!
