This simple hotel has much to offer. Every member of staff was welcoming, very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable - mattresses and pillows very good quality. The food was delicious and the menu choice was varied. The cooked breakfast was of a high standard.
Really good experience.

Auto checking, when it wasn't working, someone answered the phone, told me how to check in, and told her I'd done that. She said I better come done.
Once she was there, she told me to try the auto check-in again. Of course, it didn't work! She then spent quite a while behind reception, trying to find the reference number for the booking. Once she found it, she then tried the auto check-in again! Still not working, she then went and finally booked us in.
Breakfast was no better, we was down for breakfast at 6.35. You'd expect the breakfast buffet to be fresh and hot. Well, it was cold!
The room was not a lot better, the bed was so hard it was like sleeping on the floor.
The bath had long dark hair in it, and the room was cold.
Overall, it's not a nice stay, don't book!!!

Staff friendly and helpful. Location is poor. When booking I knew it was a hit out of time but given the roads to get there are all back lanes it's quite time consuming and fairly expensive to get into town by taxi. Might as well have spent an extra £50 (four taxi rides in and out) on a place in town.

The hotel is way, way too hot. Like a furnace. The radiator thermostat in the room was broken so we couldn't do anything about the temperature. It was insane. And given how mild it was outside, such an unnecessary waste of money and energy resource. Ridiculous.

Lovely hotel visually, room was a good size.
Only let down was my daughters house got flooded and she came to have drinks with us in the bar, she was not allowed to order in food and eat here, we were told to ear in our room. She didn't have a room. My husband and I stay away frequently and usually stay at Holiday Inn, where they allow you to order food and even provide plates and Cutlery. Considering the circumstances, this would not have been too much of an inconvenience, there was only one other couple in the bar so not busy at all.

Stayed here for one night our room was good for the price comfy bed clean and tidy. Staff are very polite friendly and helpful although two people doing everything. Christina was our receptionist/barmaid and can not fault her she was lovely and great customer service. The food is above the level I was expecting I'd go here just to eat it's that good.

Had a last minute stay here. Booking was very straightforward and easy using the website.
On arrival the hotel was easy to locate due to the sign before the turn in which was very helpful. I was met at reception by a member of staff who was very helpful in assisting to check in using the computerised system and offered assistance with luggage.
Unfortunately I was shocked that the bar was closed at an early time however was able to order room service to the room, despite no room service menu being in the room itself.
The bed was very soft and nice crisp linen and shower was working fine without any issues.
The breakfast was very good as they had a full continental for 11.99 and all food was well cooked and very tasty. The apple and orange juices tasted very weak but apart from that everything was great.

Would stay at again and recommend when staying in the area

A tired hotel. Not 4* Catering for builders and work people on a budget. Once you get through the cloud of cigarette smoke from guests in front of the entrance it's self service check in and a long walk to a very tired looking room.
Staff multi tasking and not very happy.
Dinner choice limited
Breakfast buffet style poor quality ingredients
No choice of tea
Ate out on my second night and didn't bother with breakfast
Only benefit was location close to my appointments in area.
Over priced for the offering.

If you like warm hotels, this ones for you. Literally an oven, so hot. Décor has been improved but overall it's a tired old hotel that lacks any character. Staff were friendly enough, but you can tell they didn't want to be there.
Room wise, large double was just that, Curtains falling off rails, heating permanently on full, windows that were jammed shut, paint peeling off the ceiling.
Food - atrocious at best. The breakfast was buffet style, would have been ok if EVERYTHING wasn't overcooked. Even the orange juice... Coffee machine only dealt in super strong tasting weak coffee. a contractors haven, but certainly no more
