Stayed at the hotel with 4 pp (2A 2C) so booked 2 rooms. As soon as we booked we asked for the rooms to be next door, or at least close together, and despite being assured that would be ok, we were as far away from each other as possible. ||We were early for checkin, and were ignored by the reception staff as we stood waiting at the desk. They were openly counting money, chatting amongst each other, but ignoring us and other waiting guests. ||When another guest stepped up to say he was here to check in, he was brushed off with a “oh no chance you will get in already”. This was said with a mocking laugh, and came across as quite rude. He was told he could leave a bag till later, but he declined. I then stepped up and asked if I could leave a bag, which they responded to slightly nicer but not much. ||I asked if they had a recommendation for a taxi and I was told to Google it. ||Not helpful at all and not the best welcome. ||The rooms were ok, just quite old-fashioned with bulky furniture. The building is beautiful inside and quite grand. There doesn’t appear to be a seating area (lounge) so the only place to be is the bar area, which was a standard pub style so not so suitable with kids. ||The price was quite high for room only (£100 pn).

3 nights stay from 25th June 2025. We would never stay at this hotel again. This hotel is very expensive for the service provided, went out for the day and on our return at 6pm room had not been cleaned, going out to dinner we asked at reception for the room to be cleaned, very rude receptionist informed us it couldn’t be cleaned as there was no housekeeping until the next day, she did offer us fresh towels, when we returned she said the room had been cleaned, all they had done was throw the quilt over the bed and put fresh towels in, no cleaning done whatsoever. Breakfast is inedible, dry, cold and tasteless, continental meat looked like it had been there for a week, coffee and tea lukewarm and bitter, very rude and unhelpful staff.

We came to the hotel for a family party. When we checked in the receptionist was lovely and polite. We had a double bed room with a window onto the street and a bathroom.|When we went to the family party which was in one of the function rooms. There were no draft lagers, no lime for coronas and bar staff were new and inexperienced. We asked for a lime at the bar for the corona and they gave us a whole lime and we asked for baby Guiness and had to wait 10 minutes for them to find some because they had none at the bar. Some staff were rude for example my partner went to the bar for a vodka diet coke and one of the bar staff with red hair replied to him “bloody hell is that all you drink” very rudely. ||With our stay we got breakfast included which was between 8am-11am. We went down to breakfast at 9:30 so we ensured we had enough time for checkout which was 11. Following this we all ordered our food which was the traditional Scottish breakfast with some of us having changes regarding what came with the food and the different eggs we also could get some toast, cereal and juice/ coffee. It then took 45 minutes for 2 plates of food to come out which were the wrong order and we were all confused. The next two plates of breakfast were wrong and then the staff member at the time was very helpful and understanding and proceeded to ask us what was wrong with our orders. Then she apologised and went to sort it. One order of food was correct but then proceeded to bring out the other breakfast was right. Then another waitress came and took our order again because they got it wrong in the kitchen. Finally two breakfast came out but one came out with eggs but the wrong kind and the others came with items of food we didn’t request. We was very frustrated due to how long this all took. IIn the end we took the food because by this point it was 10:35 and checkout was 11. Around us other family members of the party orders were wrong and some were waiting a hour after us for their food even though they came before us.||When we spoke to the deputy manager she was snarky and said that one chef rang in sick and 2 waitresses were brand new and didn’t know what they was doing. She gave us extra time to checkout but We found the deputy’s response very rude and unhelpful and this is not what we wanted for our morning. ||We will not be returning due to unprofessionalism and incompetence from staff.

Great location, good car parking at rear of building, first impressions positive, however…|Room pretty basic, TV, tea and coffee making available, shower room, all a bit tired and dated. Bed comfortable enough.||Breakfast is basic, although there is a menu available if you are offered one. I wasn’t on the third morning but there was Luke warm ‘help yourself’ cooked items. We didn’t on bother on the day we checked out preferring to find somewhere en route home.||There is a club next door, Cava, Friday night the music was booming out until 3am. My sleep was severely affected and a request to change rooms was met with a surly response of “not possible, the hotel is full”. Frankly, the hotel didn’t appear to be very busy. There was never anyone in the bar and breakfast was a quiet affair.||Would not recommend, although one of the staff, think her name was Swarma was excellent. Customer focused and very friendly. They should bottle that attitude and spread it around the staff!!!

Great location, staff are welcoming and friendly. Hotel itself has seen better days, ideal if only looking for a bed in a city centre location. Strange resemblance to the Overlook hotel in the Shining another hotel whose best days were maybe 100 years ago

Floorboards on our floor and room insanely creaky. Furniture in room damaged and tired with wood missing from the bedside dressers. No sockets next to the beds. Hotel is okay but a little dated. Black pudding overcooked as had been clearly sitting drying out , no bacon or hash browns but no effort to replenish them, regardless of if it’s close to the end (30 minutes) of breakfast this should still be addressed?|Stayed at Dundees other Best Western a few weeks ago and it was night and day compared to this one, would not return.

The service was really slow. Our group was given the wrong room keys. At breakfast, the items ran out, and the service was slow. The pastries were dry and from the previous day. Dinner was a farce in itself. The service took ages and was slow. The food was definitely not praiseworthy.
The rooms were freezing cold, tv didn't work either etc. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone."
