We found this place using various search engines. The price was great for the weekend we were staying for. We stayed here June 2023 as we were in NYC 2025. We were celebrating the other halves birthday in Whitby, which happens to be the same day as the owner! We parked up on the drive and left the car there until we left. Rooms spacious, clean & comfortable. The host were very friendly giving us tips on where to go on a Sunday night for some fun and we found the karaoke the only place open and busy for a Sunday night. The guest house is perfectly placed for you to walk into Whitby. The nice thing I remember about the guest house, was we were sat out the back enjoying the sun and the guest house owners came out and we just sat and chatted. all in all, I can't rate highly enough. I would book here again, next time I vist Whitby.

Amazing room, big bedroom with TV and a seperate bathroom. Hair dryer, tea, coffee, kettle etc all provided. The host was really sweet and had no problem letting us stay another night when the M1 was shut off due to snow. Will defo come again!

Just come back from a one night last minute stay. Excellent room, shower was in the bedroom itself but this wasn't an issue for us as we would rather have one than not. Unconventional but excellent use of space! We will definitely be back 😁

On a positive the rooms were spacious and clean. Beds very comfortable.
On a negative, the shower was in the bedroom which meant stepping out of the shower onto the bedroom carpet and no bathmat was provided.
TV didn't work.
No room service in the 3 nights we were here. Towels not changed or bins emptied.

Great location for walking into the town centre. The weather had changed from mold to cold and rainy. We arrived as agreed by the host at 2pm to be told out room might not be ready. OK, we can go for a walk. But, it was just finished. The room was large and spacious, with plenty of cupboards for storage. View of the park was lovely. Parking is very tight! Toiletries were a hand soap dispenser. Luckily I always take my own. Plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk satchets. Bedroom and bathroom were clean. Bed was comfortable with a warm duvet: just as well as it was extremely cold and there was no heating in the room. On the guest information it was stated that housekeeping would be done between 10 am and 1.30 pm. We showered and had to leave wet towels on the bottom of the shower as there was nowhere to hang them to dry and the radiators were cold, as the heating was not on. We returned to the room around 5pm, to find it just as we left it. Bed unmade, shower room as it was. Wet towels and all. We went without a shower the following morning as we were going home. You cannot shower in the old with wet towels. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Asked for cash to pay for the room, a reasonable amount, we visited a cash machine on our first evening. Was a disappointment as the weather was awful and the room so cold, so no respite. We spent a lot of time in lovely warm pubs.

We are traveling the world by bicycle. We are going from Dover, England to Edinburgh, Scotland, and it is difficult to find a camping site to pitch a tent, and it is raining every day. It rained again today, so we made a reservation through Agoda at BigSky B&B in Whitby. We got in trouble because we entered the wrong reservation date. BigSky B&B understood our difficult situation and changed our reservation date. We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by Brian. Our bikes were stored in a safe indoor garage. He then told me where to shop nearby and even gave me access to wifi before I even asked. We were so grateful for Brian's kindness and were able to rest comfortably.

This charming property retains many of its original features carefully maintained by its friendly hosts Brian and Vicky.|This was our second stay at Big Sky having stayed there in the summertime 2022. The property is situated at the lower part of Chub Hill within easy walking distance of Whitby Town centre. Off road parking is available and essential for a visit to Whitby particularly during busy periods. Our top floor room was spacious and comfortable with en suite shower and toilet. The room has a wonderful view of Pannett Park which is a well kept public park with a wide range of trees and flower beds making it perfect for exploring on an evening stroll. Pannett Park also hosts Whitby museum which is a fascinating place to visit and learn more about the history of Whitby. Fossils, whaling, jet jewelry and Captain Cook are all on display making it a worthwhile visit to learn more about this fascinating town. A short walk into the town centre gives access to the many shops, bars and restaurants plus the beautiful views of the river esk with the red tiled properties lining the harbour. Of course we had to sample the famous Whitby fish and chips before a quick walk back to Big Sky and a rest before an evening out sampling local beers and cocktails in the many pubs and bars. |Big Sky offer accommodation only and this was ideal for us as we do not eat breakfast and usually like to find a cosy cafe for brunch. We had a very relaxing stay with the added bonus of its available parking and close proximity to the town centre. We also found calling Big Sky direct was the best way to get a great price on our stay.
