This is a lovely cafe with a great selection of cakes. There’s a simple breakfast menu, and the full fry up was perfect. The poached eggs and salmon was a little bit of a let down, with not much salmon and over cooked eggs on limp toast. Great coffee, and great service though. Looking forward to trying some of their other offerings.

We visited the Birkacre Garden Centre Restaurant for a full English breakfast, expecting hearty food to match the cosy surroundings. What we got instead was... let’s just say “unique.”

Let’s start with the baked beans. Cold. Not lukewarm, not room temperature—cold. The chef’s attempt at gourmet fridge-to-table dining, perhaps? And while we’re on the topic of missing the mark, the breakfast itself seemed to be playing hide-and-seek with some of the advertised items from the menu. Was it sausage roulette day, or had my toast just gone on strike?

The waiting staff were friendly enough, but there was a noticeable lack of initiative when it came to drinks. A simple “Would you like another coffee?” might have gone a long way. Instead, we sat with dry throats and growing doubts about whether anyone actually wanted us to enjoy the experience.

On the plus side, the garden centre itself is lovely, so you could probably console yourself with a plant or two after your disappointing breakfast. Just don’t expect the food to fuel your green-fingered adventures.

Will we be back? Not for the breakfast, unless the chef and the beans can reach a truce.

We booked a large party to celebrate a 40th birthday and family get together. Half of us had the Afternoon Tea which was delicious. The other half ordered off the menu and everyone commented on the great food. The service and staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. We were all delighted and talking about doing it again. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

The food is top notch and same as all the goods available to purchase. They offer plants and all associated items, pet goods, odds and ends, outdoor furniture, BBQ / Braai goods and a bloody good restaurant!
New edition of warehouse now complete for outdoor furniture.

We went on a Sunday and would advise pre booking as we'd previously been unable to dine on other another weekend due to not being able to eat having not booked.
Service was slow as it was waitress service taking orders and we had to ask to order and then told we weren't on the waitresses list so had to wait even longer to place order with another waitress
Once order was taken food was served ok.
Menu covers snack meals and mains and also a vast choice of cakes.
We chose jacket spud and filling and sandwich plus side of sweet potato fries which were all beautifully cooked and presented.

Birkacre Garden Centre has a nice selection of plants, giftware and garden furniture, but everything is really expensive.  The restaurant/cafe is always really busy, so be sure to book a table. The afternoon tea is lovely.
