The best Sunday lunch my partner and I have ever had!! The chef is really really good, we will definitely be going back.
Service was excellent too and it was great value for money.

Over visiting family close by and we called in for some food mid afternoon after a long walk. We heard the pizza were good and boy they certainly were! Authentic outside oven cooked by a talented chef. Honestly probably the best I have had. We also had the dirty fries which were fantastic. All in all a lovely pub, warm welcome and great food.

Very pleasant meal here tonight. We had the fish cake with sweet chilli dipping sauce and then a pizza. Both were utterly delicious. Service was really good. We'll definitely be back.

We live in Ripon and looking at the great reviews thought we would give it a try, our table was booked for 19:00 we arrived around 18:45, the three staff were very pleasant and after a short wait we were seated in the restaurant area.
This is where things started going wrong, the place was busy and as I said only three staff, it took a while before anyone came back to us to take a drinks order and it was close to an hour before our starters arrived at which point my wife was told her main course was not available ( didn’t the kitchen know when the initial order came in) we couldn’t help but over hear the table adjacent to us complaining, we had been there over an hour at this point and we hadn’t seen any food come to there table.
We had finished our drinks and starters but were not offered any further drinks, my wife found a hair in her garlic mushrooms. We waited perhaps another thirty minutes at which point I told the young lady behind the bar we no longer wanted to wait and just wanted to pay for what we had already, they were extremely apologetic and the older lady instructed them not to charge us for any food just the drinks, I paid and left.
A real shame but we won’t be back, I would like to emphasise the staff were extremely nice but with pizzas being collected, people drinking in the bar and a restaurant two thirds full, three people was totally inadequate.

Would really recommend black amour inn lovely room, warm welcome and generous breakfast that really set you up for the day. Would definitely stay again. The owner was really reassuring and supportive as my husband suffers from dementia. Kind regards.

We only went for food. The wood fired pizzas were fully loaded - they weren’t tight on the toppings! I had the seafood pizza which I really enjoyed. My partner also enjoyed her margarita and my kids ate up theirs too (they shared a kids chicken goujon meal, and a Woodfired garlic bread).

One thing to add is the service was amazing. Our youngest fell asleep en route and the landlord offered him a small bed to sleep on. We declined however as we needed to wake him to have some food, but the gesture was extremely kind. When he was awake, he w
as fairly grumpy and our server took him to look for some books and toys to keep him entertained which meant my partner and I were actually able to eat our meals!

Throughout our visit, our server kept checking in on us, interacting with the children which was so appreciated and it made the kids feel special.

If we’re in the area again, we’ll definitely go back.

Well I can’t fault the service and the food; Seamus and the team are superb and very thoughtful and accommodating. The room was a little dated and tight for a twin, but it did the job perfectly. Excellent location for Ripon and the races.

My wife and I both enjoyed our evening meals immensely - Hers a very tasty fish pie and mine was one of the best ribeyes I've ever enjoyed.|All the staff were very friendly and attentive.|The night concluded with a free overnight sleepover in our motorhome in their spacious car park. Perfect!
